I tried installing Windows 7 on an old netbook, and after that failed I had to GPart it.

I use Windows 7 for my home computer, and (I think) XP at school.

I'm considering dual-booting Linux Mint with my home computer though, once I upgrade some of its hardware so it's less slow.

Hrm, random question (before I forget) -- if I dual boot both a Linux OS and a Windows OS on the same computer, is there a way to set it up in a way that they can both share each others' files (like my papers for school and stuff, and code I'm writing).
My website: Currently boring.

Projects:
Axe Interpreter
   > Core: Done
   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

I can easily access my Windows files from Linux, not sure if otherwise, never had to.

You can access your Windows partitions with Linux, but not the other way round. Except if you have your Linux partitions ext2 formated, then you can use special drivers, but I don't tested this...

I've used those drivers, they kind of worked, a bit, I wouldn't really recommend them.. then again maybe they have been improved.

Check the haroldbot thread for the supported commands and syntax.
You can use haroldbot from this website.

On Linux, can I save things to the Windows partition, then?

yes you can. if you want to share files, though, you can use the cloud, I think you have a server, don't you? :)

Cool, that pretty much takes care of all my reservations.

I have lots of files, plus I don't entirely trust the cloud.  I also don't have a dedicated server (I'm doing free shared hosting), and according to the terms of service, am not allowed to use them specifically to host files.

Or you create a extra fat32 (or ntfs) partition for your data... that's the easiest way ;)

Hi. I started this topic to talk about the whole thing you use to program your calcs, or computers. I use Win7 x64.

Another thing is Ubuntu 11.10. It was released early, but in my opinion it isn't that great. What abut you?
