I do not believe it is a joke. How could they fake the file? The answers of TI? If this IS a joke then I must say it was well though out of. And DJ_O reputation will rise.

I have no idea what's real today -- my French teacher said I had a 34% in her class (lie, she was grinning) even though yesterday I had a 92%, my dad said it's okay if I got an A minus in geometry this quarter (really creepy) and now this.

When will DJ log on?  Or at least someone who knows the truth?  This joke is actually somewhat sick in my mind -- I thought I really had to go buy a prizm to get the device of future calc programming today.

It's easy enough to modify an OS if you know what you are doing. They could write anything and say it was from TI.

Here in the US, if something crazy happens on April 1st, it is almost CERTAINLY a joke.

And yeah, it's a great joke. 9 pages of response so far... And no DJ_O to be seen. :D

I dunno if y'all have noticed, but DJ hasn't been on much for the past few weeks. He usually gets on at night (EST), now, and only for a little while. Who knows, maybe he is enjoying real life for a few hours? Also, I am enjoying observing how some people react when they don't get what they want (or something less than desirable occurs) XD

You seriously believe ANY news articles today? Today is the day you're supposed to play pranks on people. A few years ago Google said they were going to colonize Mars. It was a very serious article, but posted on April 1st. :crazy:

I personally know that there is still a decent chance this is real.  It's easy to make the is yourself, but still, it seems too much like TI.

I still wont pick a side.  If its a Ike, I can only say I didn't really like it myself.

Also, if it was real then wouldn't TI just leave it up and tell us programmers to get lost? I see no reason for them to remove a working OS update from their site. They didn't care about the downgrade protection in Nspire OS 2, they wouldn't care about the loss of programming on the 84.

but then they don't have an excuse to get people to stop complaining about the NSpire's programming
