Author Topic: CureDesu and JincS demoted (Read 5674 times)

I have decided to demote two recently hired Omnimaga staff due to inactivity: CureDesu and JincS. The reason for this decision from my part and the reason why I demote them, and not the other inactive staff as well, is because it has come to my attention those two people are currently very active on other TI forums (and CureDesu is not even staff at the other forums). I respect that a staff is busy and cannot post or do coding at some point of the year, however, when I discover the person is still very active on other boards, this means the person is not that busy, and could split his time between both forums, and this give a bad feeling about Omnimaga, as it seems the person doesn't have any interest into contributing at all. I am sorry to have to do this, but more respect would be appreciated. Thanks for all the other staff who are contributing to the forums whenever they get time, even if only once per month.

UPDATE (Jan 27th 2007): Curedesu has been readded to staff per promise he will stay active this time

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be a permanent demotion. They can just be demoted "until further notice."

well if they seems to be active again when I come back (unless they really become active everywhere else in the meantime) and want to reapply on middle july hiring period I may reaccept them

it will also depend of how they will reply to my e-mail (which is basically the same than this news) if they get hired back.

"PS: I would like to say that I don't think I'll really be able to become active here until the middle of March, when this quarter in school get over. So there's a pretty good chance that you won't see me here at all for the next few months (or you'll see me very little)

I will, however, be on Calc Haven when I have the time, because I promised my friend (Andy - creator of CH and a RL friend of mine) that I would keep an eye on it for him. I am not one to back down on a promise. So I'm sorry about my past and future absence from Omnimaga."

I'll try to be more active, splitting up my time between UTI and here. Other than that, I'm usually busy.

Though, I hope to be more active, as I have a couple projects in the works, so you guys should be hearing a lot more from me.

it can be hard to figure out what you can do when time is tight. You might have only time to check one forum on some days, and people have their favorite forums.

true, but when people join staff on multiple forums, it's because they are supposed to contribute in all of them and split their time. like you, ranman and tifreak8x for example

true true true. Just saying though. Also, where you rank in staff matters some also (in all reality, I should be doing more at tifreakware, as I am a root admin there).

Not until this quarter in school is over. I've had enough time these past couple of days to get on, but I don't think I'll have enough time to be a good staff member until this quarter is over in school.

So, I'll re-apply for a staff position again around the end of March.
