To me a timely manner means not having to wait till the next os update.

Making hotfixes without waiting for the next OS update is possible with Ndless. One such hotfix exists for OS 3.1.0.392: fixprint, http://ti-pla.net/a4227 . However, of course, we don't have Ndless for OS 3.2...

I guess I didn't express my answer very well.  To fix the problem in a timely manner, means to me that TI fixes the problem and issues an updated os before the next "normally scheduled" os which is many months from now.

TI will fix the issue, and they will update it as soon as they can. I'm sure they will not waits months to release it.

May I ask what your assertions are based on.  Do you have some insider info are would you just be speculating and if you have some insider source, can you tell us if there is going to be an nspire ipad app this year.  My suspicion is that TI is just not going to support that platform so the schools might as well transition from nspires to an existing iPad app.  What say you?

They do. They have signed an NDA with TI, and they often exchange e-mails with TI employees.

Assuming they're aware of such an event (if any), it's precisely the kind of things that an NDA might cover. It's unlikely that they can tell the general public about a Nspire iPad app.
(BTW, thanks to fewer restrictions on programming, the Android platform would probably be a better target than the iPad)

I think that your suspicion is somewhat extreme ;)
But I tend to agree that chances are that TI is preparing the way for the next generation of calculators. The Nspire has already lived and evolved for 5 years, i.e. a period of time as long as the 89 and 92+ (OS releases have spanned from 1998 to 2003), and nearly as long as the 84+(SE).

"I think that your suspicion is somewhat extreme ;)"

My impression of the way that TI does business is that they are stubbornly inflexable and have to have everything their way.  Sort of a "do it my way or forget it additude." So I don't see them abiding by Apples policies for apps and I can see them (TI) trying to get a better financial arrangement than apple provides other app producers and if they don't get it that will be the end of that.  Just my thinking on why we might not get an iPad nspire app.

BTW, I read a post on the teachers site that apple is putting a PTT functionality in their next iPad os and that it allows access to one app only and no Internet connection. If true, it is probably being done to satisfy the testing athorieties and if so, would probably allow the use of iPad calculator apps as a substitute for hand held calculators.  Then if Casio puts out a Prizm app for the iPad it could allow them to take over ti's education market.  Just my thinking on why we "should" get an iPad nspire app, i.e., TI protects their market Leadership by providing one.

We will see.

Hey all,

I just updated my Nspire cx to 3.2.0 from the TI website and it seems that text and screen items appear a lot 'fuzzier'. Like it tries some anti-aliasing but fails miserably. Before the update everything looked nice and crisp, now everything looks horribly out of focus.
It is still usable but quite annoying.

Does anyone else has this problem? And is there a fix for it?
I tried flashing a new download again but no change.

Thanks,

The anti-aliasing for me isn't bad ? Maybe I'm just used to it btu I've not found myself in any situation where it's actually affecting negatively what I use my nspire for.

Anyway, you can downgrade to 3.1 :)
