Kévin retires from his admin position
« on: February 28, 2006, 04:05:00 am »
For those who have noticed updates from me has been more and more sporadic, most things that are done are skin editing and minor modification on the forum (for example adding and removing hacks and mods). Sometimes it takes me over 1 or even 2 weeks to awnser someone's request, add a game to archives or test a new released demo someone send me and I even seen myself posting a news about 2 minor forum updates one whole month after the updates. I have a few Casio CFX and AFX RPGs sitting on my hardrive since one months ago which I havent put yet in the archives, not to mention that some demos are missing in the staff archives section. Lately I have been pretty busy and I have been pretty worried about http://omnimaga.dyndns.org/index.php?showtopic=1387 so I haven't been in the mood to do anything calculator related anymore. As I am supposed to move to my appartement this summer this means I'll probably no longer have the time to work on the website anymore so that's why I am leaving my admin position to someone else: Kalan Scallan. From now on if I do anymore stuff on the forums that will be only when I feel like doing it and it will mostly be design related stuff or error fixing. I promise I'll try to stay active on the forums in the near future. I don't know if I'll ever program anything new on calculators though, it will depends of how things will go in the future.

As for latest updates: yes there were. First the IRC channel is now located on the unitedti/dragon-fire servers, along with the #unitedti channel so the #omnimaga channel on efnet is no longer active. Instead go to irc://unitedti.org/ and /join #omnimaga . I also removed the Quick reply function for the time being, as it mysteriously stopped working for no reason. I also changed the forum skin a little for those who use the default blue gray skin. [UPDATE 2005/03/01] Fast Edit has been fixed, problem with the show all emoticon and my assistants functions redirecting to 127.0.0.1 in firefox solved, added Fast quote, which allow you to multi quote in the fast reply box. Enabled Report button.

Thanks to all those who contributed in making Omnimaga how it is right now and to all those who contributed to the TI community as well. :)smile.gif
Now active at https://discord.gg/cuZcfcF (CodeWalrus server)

One of the greatest things about Omnimaga is the encouragement and support that everyone gives each other. Kevin, you personally, have been a great encouragement to me. You played a instrumental role with my continuing Ultima to the end. :)smile.gif

Remember, Omnimaga will always be your baby. Hence, you can never give it up completely. ;)wink.gif

I'm sure kalan can fill your shoes as admin; but no one can as an influence and friend, so I hope you at least stay around for a while to come.

I am sadden by the thought of not seeing Kevin everyday on IRC or posting on the boards, but I can understand his situation. I hope I can make a good admin, one that is doing anything and everything he can. If anyone needs something give me a pm, hit me on IRC, or email me so I can see what I can do. Kevin you are irreplaceable and would be a great lost if you decided to leave >.<.

I can see what ya mean kevin- I was admin on a gamemaker forum before, but I quit because it was too much work. (half the people there were brain damaged anyways) >_> I'd rather just check the forums when I want to and read only the topics I want to. :)smile.gif Anyways, hopefully, you'll stick around even if you won't be adminning everything and happiness will still be there. \o/

Kevin: Your influence on this community will be felt for a long time. I hope that you can hang around for a bit and visit us now and then. I really hope that your situation can improve. You're a great guy and dont deserve the hardship in which you face.

Kevin, you are cool. :)smile.gif

Spengo, I never saw the word admin used as a verb, so that is cool too. :ru13z:king2.gif (Not a flame, I don't know why I find it funny, it just is...) :xscotch.gif
