At 10:51 PM GMT-5 (IRC logs are GMT-7), #omnimaga has hit a user online record of 41, total amount of users that remained this high until 11:03 PM and from 11:06 to 11:10 PM. For a brief period of time the channel hit 43, but we did not count that because the two users were not allowed in the channel and were immediately kicked out (the first had a ban expiring tomorrow night and the second was involved, directly or indirectly, in a forum vandalism attempt occuring at the same time, where 27 messages containing racist pictures and spam were posted under 3 accounts that had innapropriate nicknames. Thanks to SMF software, the entire spam was deleted in 21 seconds).
22 minutes before this new record was set, the channel broke the 40 users mark for the first time in its history (close to 5 years) and a record of 39 users was set 5 minutes beforehand. The record of 38 users was set on May 1st evening. Only one year ago, back when the channel was still located on Dragon-Fire network, the channel userbase ranged from 10-18 users (min-max). After the move back to EFnet on July 20th 2009, it rose to 18-24, during holidays it went up to 23-30, altough it dropped to something around 18-26 until March then risen to 18-33. From the days where it was rare to see 30 users online at once on busy hours came the nights where it became common to see that many connections very late at night on school days. The channel also hits over 35 users pretty often on evenings now, even thought several members are busy with AP tests and other exams.
On a less good note, SpyBot45 has been disabled for quite a while now, due to extreme bandwidth usage on Netham45 connection, and will most likely not be re-enabled until further notice (due to Netham45 being very busy). Our apologies for the inconveniences.
