Some minor site updates

I did some small website updates just now.

First of all, we have changed the online list so instead of showing users active in the last 60 minutes, it now shows those in the last 30 (like United-TI, TI-Freakware, TI-BANK and now Cemetech). As the site activity have grown up, the list was getting rather large and it got a bit hard to quickly find someone in it.

Secondly, OmnomIRC now shows both the users connected on IRC as well as the members connected on the forums in the last 30 minutes.

Finally, on the front page, I made the latest activity show the 25 latest active topics instead of 20.

UPDATE: The user online list that was temporary added below OmnomIRC has now been integrated inside the one in the shoutbox. It also auto-refreshes, now. Keep in mind it is still buggy, though, so some users might be missing from the list.

Nice, the list was getting a bit large. Too bad there's no auto-refresh on it...
And I do agree it's better to have the active user list there.

Yeah I thought about this for a while.

Back in the days, most TI forums used a 15 minutes timespan, but it was very hard to see who was online lately, not to mention at some times of the year, it looked like nobody was visiting for people visiting the board at weird hours. Then some started switching to 30 or 60 minutes. Omni went from 15 to 60 in late 2006, I believe. I am not too sure why I kept it at 60 for this long, though, because we got the today's logged in users list for a while already now (altough it's invisible to guests and cannot be changed)

Out of curiosity, why was the "Forum Users Online In The Last 30 Minutes" bar moved to the top of the page instead of the bottom.  I'm used to seeing it on the bottom in most forums I visit and I kinda liked it there.  I have it minimized now so I can see the new posts at the top of the page.

Sorry Quigibo, I can't really please everyone. I felt it would be more convenient to have it right below the chat so we see who's online easier then can say "Calc84maniac, are you on?" rather than having to scroll down the page or open new posts/index to go see it. Plus, the one on board index is still intact anyway at the bottom.

The userbar seemed a little awkward at first, but it's actually pretty convenient to have up there. I imagine it's most convenient for IRC users; and it kind of makes sense, considering the the IRC box is there.

There is only one thing I hate about it right now: The fact it's 2 lines and that there is no way with EzBlock to define different text size for all of them (otherwise the fonts would be the same size as OmnomIRC). IN the far future, I planned to have Netham45 integrate it in the OmnomIRC userlist, though.

Would it be possible to cut the "Guests / Users" text line out? All anyone really needs to see is the actual usernames. That would cut the display down to one line. (unless there were many users online at the same time)

Yeah it might be nice if I could do that. That said, if the list ever gets added to OmnomIRC I will re-add one on front page showing guests too I think, altough it may be changed a bit to not be as big vertically when there are many people on.

At first I missed this update, and I was like where did it go!?! O_o . Then I realized that it was staring at me attached right below the Omnom IRC box . I took a little bit (I kept looking for it on the side, lol) but I've gotten used to it. :)

Lol, that's how it was for me too :P  I was looking for it because I read the update, but I couldn't find the list /anywhere/...then I found it right below the box >.<

Ok, well,

Netham45 somehow had some free time a few mins ago and has been trying to add the online list to the chat box. Since this obsoletes the online list that got moved right below OmnomIRC, I have taken it down and re-added one on front page and the new posts list. However, the front page one is  no longer displaying only one nick per line, to make it less high vertically.

Oh, that's really cool that he was able to integrate them into OMNOM. Sweet beef! All hail teh Lobster king! ^^. Also, with multiple nicks per line this should take up less space. Nice! ^^
