On the new 2.0.1 OS, the boot2 is the same.
I was able to downgrade to 1.1, after installing 2.0.1.

But, that update is happening too early...
There must have been something very important is the 2.0.0 OS...

What's TI trying to hide?  This is intriguing!  I wonder what we can do with 2.0.1... ;D

yeah I hope they didn't fix the exploits. Also, does anyone tried installing OS 2.0.1 on a new Nspire model (the one that cannot be downgraded to anything lower than 2.x) then downgrading back to 2.0?

But again even if Ndless was made just for OS 2.0 (assuming every exploits are fixed in 2.0.1) TI will most likely send another C&D letter to TI websites to quit hosting OS 2.0

But again, maybe TI just fixed a dangerous bug that can permanently brick a calculator with OS 2.0. The TI-BANK admin appears to had this happening with his.

Has anyone tried to downgrade from 2.0.1 to 1.1 and then install Ndless?

It's working perfectly.

That's good to hear. This means that this update really was just to correct some nasty bug.

Nice to hear. Did anyone tried a 2.0.1 to 2.0 one of the new Nspire models, though? If so then I guess it's good to hear if no security holes are found in 2.0.1. I know the new models can't be downgraded to anything lower than 2.0. I hope TI won't release an hardware revision that can't be downgraded to anything lower than 2.0.1, though x.x

I saw something on TI-BANK. Quoted from one of the authors of Ndless:

J'ai regardé rapidement et la faille que nous exploitons pour Ndless 2 existe aussi dans cet OS aussi. C'est plutôt bon signe. :)

Ndless 2 fonctionne sur l'OS 1.7.2741. Concernant les OS 2, il y a encore du travail pour que l'OS reboot correctement après installation de Ndless.
Translation:

"I looked quickly and the exploit used for Ndless 2 also exists in OS 2.0.1. It's a good sign. :)"

"Ndless 2 works on OS 1.7.2741. Regarding OS 2.x, there's still work to do to get the OS to reboot correctly after Ndless installing."

The 1.7 part kinda interests me, because some people may prefer OS 1.7 to 2.0, since it doesn't have OS 2.54MP, meaning they can use xLIB fine.

EDIT: Critor mentions that the new Nspire models can be downgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.0 pretty fine. So that's good news too if it remains this way

Honestly, there's no reason to buy one if they do release another revision. The only useful thing left to implement and still have an nspire would be a qwerty keyboard, and we all know that's not gonna happen, because of SAT/ACT

True they need to remain SAT/ACT compliant.

Altough, my main worry with the future of the TI-Nspire is that TI won't start releasing hardware revisions of their machine that breaks compatibility with old programs like what happened to TI-Boy SE on the 84+

I say port the computer emulator for the GBA for pc by recompiling it for the N-spire

Sure, if you want 2fps, go ahead.

And launch that program 2 times and link them together so as to get a whopping 0.5 fps!!!

I think when porting programs to the Nspire we'll have to keep the lower ressources in mind. After all, my Pentium II 350 MHz could barely run a GBA emulator, so I can't imagine how slow one of the current PC GBA emus would be on a 150 MHz max machine x.x

Emulators will most likely need to be rewritten or optimised like mad to run at decent speed.

How fast did your Pentium II run a GBA emulator? I never knew such machines could emulate a GBA in a playable way.
