Very nice remix again, and I always loved your game remixes on Newgrounds. Too bad the OCRemix review team is so uptight about anything made with Music series and more mainstream dance music. A lot of your stuff would be nice submissions.

Thanx, glad you think so :)

Speaking of newgrounds, i made a new account on there too... turns out they have a whole new rating system when it comes to newer artists.  Apparently when you submit something for the first time you are automatically under the "unscouted artists" section, until you get enough recommendations for the audio portal... so far, I still haven't been recommended yet, lol :-P

Very great! A lot of the remixes on Youtube don't seem very creative due to trying to sound exactly like all chart techno/electro music, but stuff here, especially the Music 2000/MTVMG1/2 stuff always seems more creative. Also I like the old skoolness. :D

lol i agree... its one of the reasons why i stopped listening to the newer stuff and radio in general.  Ironically i've been told that MY stuff is "too generic"... go figure :-P And thanx, glad you like it :)

Interesting. Actually I think it would be more like eurodance but harder style. Maybe between hard style/hard house and house/eurodance, due to the kickdrum and speed of the song.

lol maybe thats it then... idk, I used the Disco drum loop and disco strings, with 70's style percussion which is why i automatically thought "disco" :-P

He used the PC version of Music 2000. It dates back in 2000 (the PS1 version 1999) and lacks VST plugin support, but it still lets you do some cool stuff if your computer can run it. The PC version of Music 2000 allows unlimited importing of WAV samples (hence the remixes he can create with it), while the PS1 version only allows about 4-16 seconds, depending of the quality, but the reverb effects are way better in the PS1 version.

^this pretty much

I've always been a fan of remixing songs rather than composing original works.. hell, i even remix my OWN songs (the Organ City series is a good example).  But yea, people look at me like I'm some kind of Wizard or something when i tell them i use Music 2000... either that, or i usually get the people that try to get me to convert to fruity loops, sony acid, or garage band

I've had this remix planned out back when i was using my old alias (CMG-UTOPIA), but never had the chance to put it in motion... now I finally did, and I'm happy with how it came out. It's a faster trance/techno version of the song. Hope you enjoy.

It's the remix to the NES version of Addams Family where you go in the graveyard to recover the house key.  For some reason i decided to give it a "Disco" feel to it.  Hope you enjoy

By the way, has the snowstorm that occured after Sandy caused any further damage to any of the people around you or yourself?

yep, few powerlines went out because of it... tree branches were the biggest obstickes though cause the weight from the snow made them snap down easily specially after the hurrcane made them weak to begin with.

Does your area use power lines like we do here, or is it mostly underground? If it's all in towers, then that was REALLY fast getting them all back up. At my place, a power pole got struck by lightning and went down, and we were out of power for 2 weeks.

Glad to hear it went so well for you!

We use Power lines, so the poles were either leanijng down towards the streets like they were about to crash down, or the power lines just snapped and were all over the street

growing beards and mustaches for prostate cancer? I've never heard of that action before...

It's more common than most people think... there's this dude at my job that every month or so, he lets his hair and beard fully grow and then completely shaves it off for stuff like that.  people never know what he's going to come into work looking like, cause sometimes its only his hair he shaves of and sometimes its just the beard, lol.  A Week ago he came in with nothing on him cause he gave it all away

O hai... i just got my power back due to Hurricane Sandy knocking out our power lines for almost two weeks.

i live in Levittown, NY which is in Nassau County Long Island.  Let's just say that i have never seen big tall trees do so much damage in my entire life due to the winds literally uprooting them from the ground.  Fortunately we didnt get any damage, but some houses werent so lucky... roofs damages, and even cars crushed by the trees.  As for other parts of long island, from what i understand, Long Beach is gone, and some parts near the water are still flooded.

Meanwhile everyone is pissed off at LIPA (the electric company) for taking their sweet-ass time getting the problems fixed... at least thats what people are saying

Nice to see you again, but unfortunately it's against the Omnimaga rules to create multiple accounts ???

You might want to ask admins (the guys in blue-colored nicknames) so they can merge your two accounts together and choose which nickname you want to keep.
* DJ_O wonders what's with the recent upsurge in duplicate accounts creation attempts in the last few weeks... O.O

1. oopse... then yea, guess imma do that then, lol XD

2. I did it to re-invent myself... i can't speak for the others though :-P

lol guess I'm the only one that knows about & has played Dark Legends(US)/Suikoenbu(JP)/Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty(EN)  :P

It's by Data East, and plays like a combination of Samurai Showdown & Street Fighter... as in you start off with a weapon, and play Samurai Showdown style (slow, not too many combo's can be performed, more damaging attacks), but if you want, you can ditch your weapon and play Street Fighter Style (characters are faster, combos can be easily performed, less damaging attacks).

Here's a video to show...

I'd recommend picking up the Saturn version if you want it :-P Otherwise if you wanna emulate it, there's a PSX version too, but it's Japan only

Not sure how it was called, but that Sonic game for the DS. I never could get past the water levels...

I'm guessing you mean Sonic Rush/Rush Adventure... cause they were pretty frustrating too, lol

Sonic Adventure 2/Battle, Sonic Heroes, & Shadow The Hedgehog... these games always frustrated the hell out of me to the point that i gave up and realized getting all emblems/A ranks were not worth the trouble... as long as i finished the game(s), thats all I cared about, lol

« on: October 28, 2012, 05:11:27 pm »
Lol, I didn't even know Tohou had fighting games. I thought they were all Shoot-em ups.

Not necessarily... There's a couple platformers out there... the only ones that stick out in my mind are MegaMari & Super Marisa Land/World (which I'd recommend all of them, their pretty fun)

Hell, even the Nintendo DS has a couple Touhou games... Rabi Lady 1 & 2 for digital download is an example.
