TI 68K / Doom89!
« on: July 30, 2007, 07:17:00 pm »
Hello everyone, as you might (probably) already know, I am working on porting Doom95 to the 68k series. I started this topic to let the people who do not frequent the other boards where I've been talking about this know whats going on. Also this is the place to post your opinions, ideas and general discussion about this project.

Here's my http://tifreakware.net/atg/index.htm which will have the public release beta on it, it's a tad buggy and really only there to give you a feel for what the game will be like at this point. The current beta with all the bug fixes and nifty new features is only available to beta testers right now, so if you want to see it now, you kinda have to volunteer to beta test for me. It's not a labor intensive job, just tell me if anything goes wrong and any opinions you have or ideas for the game.

Hope you all enjoy Doom89 as much as I have enjoyed building it. I hope to have the whole game finished in a month or two. (probably counting from the time I get my good computer up and running again   :ihatemypc:crash.gif  )

Haha yea that isn't very user friendly, I'm actually surprised you could make out my French that well, I probably made a million mistakes with grammar/spelling.

dude saltwater taffy is awesome.

Btw; since I haven't created a Doom89 forum, I just added a nifty new feature. The death scene has been changed so that when you die the camera moves foreward and spins around so that you are facing the player's character and you see him fall over and die. It looks pretty awesome. Also the enemy and player shooting code has been rewritten and works extremely fast and perfectly now. No enemies just sit there and do nothing now and the game does not lag at all.

I should start a discussion here for Doom89, if everyone here doesn't frequent the Tifreakware forums very much.

Je n'ai pas compris la plupart du vous avez dit. Mais, J'ai un question. Vous avez besion d'un clavier special por employer les caracteres francais? Ou est il des keystrokes special?

And since that was difficult enough to say I'll say this in english. I think having more french translated forums would be a good idea, since english isn't always everyone's first language.

haha well I saw the stubby wisker things and I thought, rubbery skin, whiskers, perhaps it's a mutant catfish. I see why it's a carp now, the sort of football shaped body. :Ptongue.gif it's been forever since I went fishing.

Thanks for the old english wolcum. lol.

*Super Speler realizes that Spelli probably won't see this and tosses Aaroneus some grade L (circus elephant) peanuts.

Thanks, I'm not sure what the peanuts thing is about and I don't know Spelli but I appreciate that.

Thanks everyone, Doom89 has been a fun project. I hope to have it finished as soon as possible, while making it as good as I can.

Greetings from the geological center of nowhere, Huntersville N.C. I've been on other forums and you may have talked to me there before, but for those who haven't met me... I'm the creator of Doom89 the upcoming FAT-Powered port of the original game Doom95.

I'm 18 and have been programming for nearly 6 years, I started with HTML and progressed to TI-82 basic, then to TI-83+ basic, then to Visual Basic 6.0 then VB.NET, to (68k) C, then C++. I hope to learn Z80 assembly in the near future. I'm excited to be back in the community and I hope to make some friends, contribute some games/programs that people will play/use, and help out in any way I can.

S'alam a'leycum, Bonjour, Hola and Hello.
