TI-Nspire / Re: z80 emulator for Nspire
« on: March 29, 2013, 07:12:31 pm »
Will we ever be able to load programs on the calc. What I mean by this is getting a TI-84+SE file and renaming it to <Program name>.tns putting in on the calc and running it from the emulator? Or is modifying the ROM file impossible on the calculator?

What about a ZX spectrum emulator?

Or a BBC micro?(Since I think they had the same Z80 microprocessor)

Edit: Some versions of the BBC micro had the Z80. There were many models. But two main models (A and B).

I was first introduced into the calculator world by a post on reddit. It was a post showing "Skyrim"(I know you guys don't like the popularity of that). I loved the idea of portable programming. So I got my Nspire-CX. After a month of having no idea how to program anything for the Nspire-CX. I found you guys! And so I made a post asking how to being programming on my CX. You guys showed me LUA.

@TheNlightenedOne You should try that Z80 emulator

The problem with third party OS's is that an OS is very important. And takes ages to install. Now I know you can have multiple OS's. But a lot of people don't bother with third party OS's. It's not like a program where you can install it, try it, then leave it and forget about it. Changing OS is a big thing and many people don't want to do it.

THAT BEING SAID! I hope this goes well and I hope you find some programmers. Good luck!

TI-Nspire / [IDEA] Ndless program to make mouse apear
« on: March 27, 2013, 01:19:15 pm »
I am one of many who don't like the Nspire's touch pad. One of the main reasons for this is that I have to rub the touch pad 50 times before the mouse appears. :banghead:

So I thought of the idea where you could just press two keys and the mouse would appear.

I can't do anything with Ndless except install programs(Yes, I have looked into it), I don't even know if it's possible. So someone else would have to do this.

Thoughts?

Also I like the look of the calc in general :)
I agree! If apple were to redesign the Nspire-CX/CX CAS it would look something like that.
