Hey Soru, good to hear from you again. I actually just finished my first good app! It's based on the card game Set. I don't want to publish it on the play store for copyright reasons (the concept of the game might be protected, although the code is all mine) but its here if any of you all want it :)

Hey guys,

I've been away from Omnimaga for a while so I thought I'd come back and say hi again to you all  :) Update on my life: I'm now a student at Purdue University studying Computer Science. I've stopped calculator programming and moved into Android Development. How's everyone been?

Welcome to omnimaga :)  Just a friendly tip, you can click the "modify" button by your post instead of posting twice.
Please, spare your peanuts xD Has anyone got some omnimaga melon or kebab? that would be cool...
Will melon candy work?  ;)

Super Smash Bros. Open / Re: [Axe] Super Smash Bros. Open

If it worked like a regular link port than people wouldn't even need a program because they could just send String variables. I even made a texting app over the link cable once and it wasn't too hard to do. But yeah, the size would most likely be a problem.

I'd imagine it would be easy for people to cheat on SATs and other tests if they could send files wirelessly to eachother.

Computer Programming / Re: Android programming, anyone?

By the way if you make some games, be sure to showcase them on Omni :)
I most certainly will  :)

It really depends on what you want to make. Are you thinking about a utility or game? There are game engines around that can build for android, or you can do everything in eclipse.
My ultimate goal is to make my own homescreen launcher but (since that's no doubt really advanced) I plan to start with simple games.

At school, I'm starting a club for android development. Our starter project is a programmable calculator app made in Android Studio.
That's sounds great, good luck!

Computer Programming / Android programming, anyone?

I'm getting my first smartphone for Christmas (LG G3 running android lollipop  ;D ) and want to begin programming apps for android. I'm already comfortable with java so I plan to use that.
Out of curiosity, have any of you ever tried this? Any tips?

Other Calculators / Re: TI-84 Plus CE... what now, TI? O.O

That would be so nice if its faster... I wonder if we could interchange parts with the regular color calc to speed it up (assuming the parts are similar enough, that case concerns me).

TI Z80 / Re: Portal 3 - Exile [Alpha]

Yup, that's included too! I made it so that once the wall, it moves side to side (by greater increments) until either my really long if statement is satisfied (checks if wall is behind portal, not in front of portal, and portal isn't hanging over) or until its repeated a certain amount of times (to prevent an endless loop).

Update: portals now work in four directions. I took Builderboy's advice decided not to have them snap to the 5x5 grid after all. Instead: portal bumping!  :w00t:  If the player tries to make a portal where it would hang off of a wall or be on top of another portal, it shifts the new portal automatically.

I'm also going to optimize my horribly redundant code and hopefully have a source release soon.

Hello and welcome to the forums :)

If you invest your time and learn assembly you can make some insane stuff (look up zStart). I would recommend it if you have an interest in making complex utilities and have time on your hands. Otherwise, Axe is the way to go. Especially if you want to make games. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and its incredible.
