Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: Pentium II, Linux...hmmm...
« on: November 15, 2010, 11:52:23 am »
I can't remember what it is exactly, I think it is a PCI/PCI-E and the card worked on XP, so yes all I need is the drivers, and if I could get my hands on the windows driver then I could use nciwrapper (I think it's called this) and I should be good :)

It will, if I get the right drivers. This card worked on Windows XP, but It's a non-standard card I think so getting the drivers might be a problem.

Ok, I've decided to just use Arch because it is something I know, and I'm also going to use SLiM as my display manager and LXDE for my desktop environment, so very simple :) I was wondering if anybody knew how to connect two computers via wifi without a wifi router. Of course I need to get my wifi card working on the PII first...

KnightOS / Re: KnightOS

I was kinda thinking it would be nice to include it in the kernel, they are pretty small routines after all.

Hey Sir, when are you thinking about adding in contrast commands?
I'm still hesitant to do them.  I think we should just add a byte in SafeRAM for the current contrast value and leave it at that.  It's not very hard for programs to change the contrast.
I added it a while ago but you never followed suite :p
Having a few commands so the OS can adjust the contrast for the user without extra programs would be a good idea.

With KnightOS, you can pretty much use your calculator as a flash drive.  (I'm actually planning on experimenting with making the computer think it *is* a flash drive.)

I love you.

I personally use Launchy and have all my most used programs pinned to my taskbar so I don't need to run something else. although I should just use the start menu instead of launchy. Less overhead.

What exactly did you do? Maybe you should hit me up on IRC and I can help you, or at least point you in a better direction (people who work on jailbreaks etc).
