If Google never existed? I guess that Yahoo, Ask or Bing would have been the core of Internet instead of Big G...

I should pick up the BoulderDash version for NES. It seems like a fun game. I still want Bubble Bobble, though :P But it's expensive :x

I missed it, it was at 30€...

I remember playing Boulder on FX-9860, this one looks fine too!

I saw the textures in crafti were a little wonky (maybe for speed reasons), are there any texture routine more accurate?

Computer Projects and Ideas / Re: Redstone-oriented Minecraft clone
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:08:51 am »
Oh, I thought it was your implementation... The reason could be that minecraft does it the way I mentioned: Random ticks per chunk, but it has to tick every block in a chunk first before it ticks a block the second time (I'm not sure how to explain it better). What happens if you connect two not gates to the repeater inputs (input & lock) instead of a repeater? Does the behaviour change if you change orientation, location etc.?
Could you draw the circuit?

I found out that sometimes it's visible that the right torch turns on slightly faster than the left one, sometimes the opposite.

With statefulness my old Minecraft clone (years ago, lwjgl) achieved a 2-calls-per-chunk renderer :P (IIRC. It was an experiment how to get most performance out of LWJGL with a lot of cubes and big worlds)
Well how? glBindVertexArray, glDrawElements .. nothing left to change state. I'd have 2 calls if it wasn't for the uniform buffer.
It was GL 2.0 back then, fixed function pipeline etc. I'd get the source but it's on my old hard drive I put somewhere in my room :/

It's the north/south and east/west bias. As the program reads the chunks in a certain way, there is a slight difference between positions and orientations.

Is there any way to get only the source for nGL and not crafti? I'd like to fiddle with it sometimes.

Hhmm, 6MHz is quite powerful I have to admit, most of my screenshots of HBE are on 6 MHZ and yet the game is still smooth and great (grayscales and all the bell and whistle). Yet I would like to see a a great clone with great graphics, like scrolloing menus and all the eyecandies. 6 MHz should be enough to give neatos to eyes, jut look at that:

The shadingis strange (the orbs have a specular of something rough, like wood or stone) when the 'mon itself has a soft cartoon shade (like cell shade),  I would have gone for a smaller specular, like for somethng made of glass. But your drawing is nice!

No Game No Life is seriously awesome :D I really recommend it!
I'm missing the whole series but yah it's quite fun.

I'm curently watching Code Geass (Lelouch of the Rebellion). An excellent anime with character development, mecha et nice artwork. (Disclaimer, there are some blood and fanservice, specially *one* scene. I won't suggest you to watch it with kids unless you want to have the talk. Seriously, that took me off guard.)

Numix goes well with Ubuntu. Have a try! The only downside of Numix is its price.
