Casio Calculators / Re: Should I get a Casio FX-9750GIIwe for $15?

Just went and bought it. It seems to connect using mini-USB, of which I have many cables. Here's a few pictures of it:

$15 is an awesome price. If nothing else, it'd be fun to fool around with. :D
Pretty much what I thought. Just had to ask about the tooling capability before I bought it.

Also, does anyone have the specs of it? Is it comparable to an 83+?

Thanks DJ! I think I go pick one up. Do I need to buy some special cable to sync it with PC, or does it come with one?

At my local Target, I saw a few Casio FX-9750GIIwe calculators for $15. I've never owned a Casio calculator before, and don't know if this is worth buying. I've heard that you can somehow upgrade it to a 9860, whatever that means. Are there programs for the 9750/9860, and could you link me to a few sites for them?

TI-Nspire / Re: nPDF - A document viewer for the Nspire
« on: February 18, 2014, 10:24:30 pm »
Here are some planned features (in no particular order):
Proper error handling (using MuPDF's C exception handling system)
Zooming
A menu
Allowing the holding down of arrow keys
Find
Rotate page
Some convenient keyboard shortcuts (with help)
Select/copy/paste text (using the Nspire clipboard, i think nTxt has such a feature)

Feel free to post additional suggestions here.
Sounds great, can't wait for your next update! Also, could it have an easy way of going to a certain page? Like instantly getting to page 48 of the Nspire manual, for example.

Math and Science / Re: .9 repeating equals 1?

In ninth grade my friends and I got so mad about this. We would argue for hours about this, no joke. :D I was always in the camp that said it was equal, but whatever.

As said above, in summation notation it could be expressed as the summation of 9/(10^x) as x goes from 1 to infinity, which of course would be 1.

News / Re: 1st PDF reader for TI-Nspire CX/CM
« on: December 12, 2013, 04:53:55 pm »
Wow, a PDF reader for the nSpire! I could see this being very useful, as having a pdf split up into 100 files really slows down the menu access time. I see that there is no good way to navigate a large pdf as of now, so I encourage the programmer to keep improving this program, as it shows much promise. Thanks!

TI-Nspire / Lights Out for Nspire!
« on: November 03, 2013, 10:33:01 am »
So I was browsing ti-calc yesterday, and I noticed that there was no Lights Out game for Nspire. So then... this happened. :D

How to play:
Try to get all the 1s to become 0s.
Use start(x,y) to create a random x by y board.
Use toggle(x,y) or t(x,y) to switch the state of a given square and those adjacent to it.

Current features:
•The game is 100% playable.
•There is a turn counter.
•Custom sized boards.
•Random level generation.
•Win detection.

Change log:
1.0.1
•Bugfix, such as fixing 1X2 boards (idk why you'd do that)
•Increased the amount of shuffling at the beginning of the game.
•Fixed my bad English.

1.0
•Initial release.

I'm open to new suggestions for features if anyone has some.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!

I installed the old OS switcher, is this a new one that I should install instead?
