News / Re: Downgrade For Ti-nspire os 3.9 released
« on: January 19, 2015, 04:47:54 am »
Ok, reinstalling OS 3.9.1 instead of OS 3.9.0 solved my problem. It's a really strange issue. I wonder what should I do to get ndless on my calculator   :/

If your hardware revision is 'S' or above, your calculator will not work correctly with OS <3.9.1, making the downgrade useless.

Therefore, you'll have to wait for a new version of ndless (compatible with 3.9.1) to be released before you can use it.

Wow, now that's great news! I am surprised it didn't take longer to be honest, seeing as downgrade protections get stronger and stronger. I'll have to check this out. What impresses me even more is that this appears to work on hardware J and higher too (although of course OS 3.1 will not run on those so they'll have to use 3.6)

Good job to the authors of this!

Also tutorial link: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=15497&p=172096#p172096 (might be useful to the many people who come here for help to downgrade)

Agreed. I was always thinking that if you had a new calculator, you'd have to wait until ndless 3.9 is released. This is such a quick solution that's easily accessible to everyone. Now everyone can enjoy the benefits of ndless!

TI Calculators / Re: Quick question regarding TI-nspire CX
« on: September 21, 2014, 10:47:50 pm »
Thanks DJ,

I have now successfully downgraded the boot2 image!

The current version I'm using is 3.10.16.

However, when I attempt to install OS 3.6 I get this error with "TI-Nspire Computer Link Software"

"You cannot install a version of the OS that is older than the currently installed version."

I'm not sure how the software knows what the current version of the old software was but is there away around it?

I think you are running os 3.1. In that case, you can install ndless 3.1 instead of ndless 3.6, which is much more stable and doesn't need to be reinstalled. Then just follow the instructions to install KhiCas

General Calculator Help / Broken cx cas keyboard
« on: July 17, 2014, 11:30:47 pm »
Hi guys,

I turned on my cx cas H model today and when I tried to calculate certain things, I found that they wouldn't become visible on the calculator.

My middle panel of buttons (the ones where the numbers are and other buttons incl delete are located) don't work. But my the top and bottom panels work (I can still turn on the calculator and get pronumerals and things like that)

Is there anyway I can fix this without having to buy extra parts.

Hope you guys can help

IIRC, the main issue is the newer hardware revisions. I think it will be very hard to get nLaunch to work on J, K, L and later models, perhaps even harder than getting it to work under OS 3.9 on older models.

I've got an older H model cx cas though, so I still think it would be possible. In fact, I've tnoc'ed 3.9 and I'm willing to stick that straight onto my calc along with the current nlaunch and see if it works

Will nlaunch 3.6/3.9 be coming out soon?

I'd love to give 3.9 a try on my cx cas

3.9.0.463 is finally out on ti's servers. Instead of 3.9.0.461, they've updated the version

Yeah as mentionned by the other news they are already available, just not available on the official site. You can even download older OSes from their servers unless they recently removed them.

It still hasn't been released on ti's website for public download though, look here http://education.ti.com/en/us/software/details/en/0607F21D07B14ACB9EE85E57A9C30EDA/ti-nspirecxcas_os and it's still not up

Has anyone successfully decompiled/analyzed the Nspire firmware/OS? I wonder what exactly they changed (besides Ndless blocking).

There's new boot2 files look here:

News / Re: Ndless 3.6 becomes reality!
« on: April 27, 2014, 05:48:45 pm »
I posted this also on TI-Planet.
it seems to me that the OS included in the 3.6/3.1 switching pack does not allow custom ndless.cfg files. Can I do this in any way?
The extensions required have already been put into ndless 3.6. Just download that from here http://www.ndless.me and there's nothing to worry about. Custom files are not required

Have you tried pressing doc-edit-delete?

TI Calculators / Re: cx cas os 3.2 vs 3.6???
« on: April 23, 2014, 02:54:29 am »
Hi msdnspecial,

Welcome to Omnimaga!

Enjoy some peanuts!

To answer your question, you can use both oses using nlaunch. Ndless is also supported on os 3.6. See here http://www.ndless.me for ndless and here http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=13213&hilit=nlaunch for nlaunch.

Enjoy!

First, because I don't like having to apply this each time I boot my calculator

Using nlaunchy 2.4, everytime the cx is rebooted ndless is automatically installed. Saves a lot of time!
First, could u tell me how u dual booted the CAS OS and the non-CAS OS?

To do this, just go here http://www.omnimaga.org/general-calculator-help/installing-cas-on-ti-nspire-cx-non-cas/msg360050/#msg360050 and follow the instructions

Download 3.2.3.1233 from here http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=9675 and download computer link software 3.2 from here http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=5489

This is not compatible with 3.6, only 3.1/3.2

Enjoy!

You've got a d version cx and it should still be able to run ndless 3.1 as well as multiple oses via nlaunchy (I've got an h version model which runs 3.2/3.6).
