Oh another question: How does water behaves if the parralax scrolling background is black, like night time, for example?
Well, the background outside of the water can only be gray or white. Underwater, it is black and gray. So a fully gray background would make the water look black.

if you use the appvars for saving, it might be best to encrypt them somehow, as I have heard its quite easy to hack into mario 2.0's appvar to give you extra stuff or something like that.  especcially if you are doing something where one byte (or two) are the items/level/whatever
Errm, I didn't think Mario 2.0 had an appvar...

I don't remember if it was asked but I will ask again in case: Will there be either a cape or a feather item?
Yep, you asked on the first page of this topic, lol. There will probably be some item of that sort.

Really? I guess I didn't paid attention when gbc4nspire came out x.x. Is it very hard to work around these differences, though?
When programming in C, all you would have to do is use a different include file for the OS routines

I think a separate build needs to be made for CAS, because the locations of OS routines are different. This is the only reason gbc4nspire needed two builds.

As requested on IRC, I made a new screenshot showing the improved water animations:

doesn't mario crash every 10 minutes, tho?
That was mostly the level editor, I think

Question, will Mario fall faster and faster as he goes down into water? It might look more realistic physics-wise. In SMW, when falling down for long enough, you eventually fall at the same speed as if you weren't underwater
Ah, really? I might just make it modify the gravity then. Also, he does slide down hills if he doesn't move.

Edit: I tried that, and it doesn't seem right. I'll stick with what I have now

I added a ton of new features :D

I added water, which is displayed using the parallax tilemapper. Swimming seems to work well, though Mario's sprite should probably change.
Now there are points displayed when killing enemies, which increase with consecutive hits (like in the real Mario games). The score is not counted up yet, though.
I added the spinning blocks from Super Mario World.
Slopes now affect Mario's movement.
New enemies!

Nspire really has a problem with batteries.
Battery saving options will be a must for some programs like the calcmaniacs' emulators.
I hope there is a way to the CPU enter a battery saving mode while delaying.
I believe I already do this with gbc4nspire... I am not sure how much effect it actually has on the battery life though.

I had a concern: would such 3rd party emu take much more battteries than the built-in Nspire one? Or could it potentially take less?
It could probably take less, since it is faster. I could maybe add an option to change the clock speed to increase battery life, and same for gbc4nspire

Pshh, like I've actually released any real games other than Chip's Challenge :P

Calc84, when this is done, will we be able to send files to it through the link port from a 83+?
It would probably have this feature already, except I haven't figured out how to activate the I/O port on the 84+ keypad.
