Spoiler For Spoiler:
I can't think of any reason why you'd need to directly write to flash from a user program...
Only an OS should need to do that, in which case you don't need to bother with a hack, since it's your OS.
The only reason for which it could be needed is if you need to create an app directly on-calc. But to do that, you'd have to mess w/the certificate too, and that is just a very bad idea.
Anybody have a better guess?
Edit: Apparently what is above can be construed as rude and careless. I have apologized below. I still feel bad... :(

Oh... :( Now we're all disappointed. Well, holes are still somewhat useful...

I never had very serious errors, except once I was editing a program from DCS and when I tried to quit, it wouldn't. Taking out the batteries was no better. In the end I used ON+DEL. I hope DCS7 will restore my faith in the editor.
Definitely look forward to the release. Good work!

It seems like that's what he means. If it isn't, he can clarify.

Transparent anything, or just walls? Having transparency is nice at any rate.

Now TI just has to wait for ASM programming to become common, and then popularity will take off with little effort on their part.
[sarcasm]Don't you just love TI's business model[/sarcasm]

Just an esoteric programming language. For fun. I doubt anybody uses it for serious work.

I'm quite certain TI won't change the emulation. If they do, it will be, well, worse for us, as you said. But I doubt it will change. It will probably just be more inefficient if it does.

The Nspire's z80 emulation isn't complete, and many undocumented instructions don't work. Instead, some "invalid" instructions are directions to the emu to do certain things. This is how USB is done in the emulated 84+SE, for example.

I heard about the GB emu for the 89 too. I do hope calc84maniac can succeed in making it work for the newer models w/only 48k ram.
I will be very happy then, mainly because mine is of the newer variety. I'm sure lots of people would be glad.

Probably more like how processors work at the hardware level. For now, anyway.

those only have about .5 kb, IIRC

IIRC it's a bad idea to write directly to flash unless you really know what you're doing. Not to mention repeat compiling to Archive will wear it more quickly. Also, messing up can go really badly. Corrupting you're Archive can never end well...

SE's only, then.

It would be awesome but impractical. Using a computer makes it less portable, but at least it's a calculator-that-can-indirectly-access-the-internet. WiFi requires a lot of power, and you need to build/buy something. You'd have to have separate batteries. Definitely cool, but not that workable, not to mention the small screen size of a calc. Of course any browser would be text-only, because anything else would be even more impractical.
I will just repeat my opinion: awesome, but impractical.
