HP Calculators / Re: New HP 39gII connectivity kit (Nov 2013)

No firmware, indeed, although the Prime firmware is there. :(

I had a fatal error too (but not the same one) installing the new HP-39gII Connectivity Kit.
No problem after manually removing the old one.

Could you try this DJ_O, and confirm me you have no problem detecting both HP-39gII and HP-Prime without needing to reinstall anything anymore?

It doesn't overwrite the Prime Connectivity Kit.
You're going to have two HP Connectivity Kits and you'll have to run the right one each time.

Strangely, the HP-39gII firmware is not in ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/39gII .

News / Last days to take part in the TiCalc.org POTY
« on: November 28, 2013, 01:25:53 pm »
Like every year, Ticalc.org is organizing the POTY (Program of The Year), an event in which the best TI calculators programs of the year are going to be elected into three categories:
  • TI-z80 (TI-83 Plus, TI-84)
  • TI-68k (TI-89, TI-92 Plus, TI-Voyage 200)
  • TI-Nspire
A necessary condition for the choosen programs is to be uploaded on the Ticalc.org website.

So we invite you to publish your programs on Ticalc.org, especially if they are TI-Nspire or TI-68k programs. ;)
Indeed, competition is relatively low in those categories, with very few programs have been published on Ticalc.org this year.

HP Prime / Re: libhpcalcs: a toolkit for communicating with Prime calcs...
« on: November 25, 2013, 04:09:40 pm »
Just to clarify: as I mentionned in the TI-Planet thread, no matter someone's programming skills, his status in the TI community (for example, admin of an affiliated site) and how long/much he has contributed to the TI community, the Omnimaga rules and punishments remains the same. No one get special treatment when it comes to forum rules here (I was banned too, after all).
And this is quite problematic from my point of view. But this is not about getting special/better treatment at all - I've been totally misunderstood.
We'll go on discussing things and come back with a PM/email anyway if we don't get anything else before.

Whatever we do, it seems like we'll have to wait for Lionel before going back on topic... :P

Thank you DJ_Omnimaga. Yes, we're currently discussing this kind of things in order to handle the situation better next time.

TI-Nspire / Re: Calling all Linux Kernel developers!
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:01:23 pm »
Actually, support for booting directly from nLaunchy has been there for a long time. Look in the nLaunchy source code for a directory named Build_LinuxOS. I have already used this before, with the old kernel. And if you put the resulting file in linux/linuxloader.tns. You can boot from nLaunchy by pressing tab.

@Eiyeron & ElementCoder: So the change is intended at developpers. It doesn't change anything for the end user.
The end users are not going to use Zmodem instead of TI-Nspire Computer Link to upgrade their kernel.

The TI-84 Plus Orion module has a complete setup menu, except that it's an audio menu.
Now discover its full retranscription:

Did I do something which could have deserved a ban?

The last time I did get an unfair restriction of my account (not a ban) was on Yaronet in 2008-2009.
I did leave the site and did never post any work on it again.
Today, the site has totally disappeared from the active TI scene.

Edit: reply received by PM

Ok, so back on topic on TI-Planet or HP-Museum, until better times:

We're out of topic, but I thougt he was banned for being rude towards the admins (I can't be sure as there is no public annoucement). He's not the one who brought the drama here.

Not for the quoted drama.
It happened yesterday.

Great news - the Orion talking module for the TI-84 Plus does include 9 differente voices (4 male, and 5 female) associated with common first names.

Discover them in my latest video:

TI-Nspire / Re: nDealOrNoDeal for Nspire - The Language War
« on: November 21, 2013, 11:43:39 am »
To replace things into context, at the end of the news in which I did praise the game, I've said 2-3 lines with something like this:
"It's sad that many TI-Nspire CX owners (HW-J/K) can't benefit from such a program. To me, Ndless was not necessary for such a user interface and Lua would have been a great alternative"

I've never intended to spark any controversy and I'd like to apologize for this.

But I can see nothing wrong in that sentence. This is not an attack against the author (who made a great work) - it's just my personal advice.
So I'd like to be explained how that sentence is wrong, or I'll probably be able to post similar sentences in the future.

I didn't really meant it like this.
(cause and consequence are inverted)

I've done much for Omnimaga for years (maybe less years than DJ_O, this is not the question).

So to me, it's totally anormal for such a post to remain here.
