Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Smartphone otg to ti84/nspire?
« on: March 28, 2020, 11:01:06 am »
Hey, would it be possible to somehow make an android app that would allow you to send prgms and apps to a TI84 or Nspire using OTG? If so would anybody be interested in making it? I would do it myself but idk how...

TI Calculators / Doors CSE release candidate 2 trouble in paradise
« on: July 15, 2014, 01:13:25 pm »
So a few nights ago i was on the doors app release 2...
it has never done this and i do have to say i am really pissed off. :banghead:
It glitched (no surprise) but what got me going was this:
Almost all of my programs were erased, and every single grouped item vanished. In a fit of rage I deleted the candidate and i am left to sadly consider that maybe doors needs alot more work (yes even the 8.0 version of doors) so it can become more stable, and more dependable. okay we may run our prototype programs whatever on a calculator emulator but in reality I dont think emulators should be used. we should instead test-run these new programs on a REAL calculator before we release it to everyone just to be safe, and keep using the program contained for a month or so to tell if there are stability issues in it.
I rest my case.

What I don't get is after all those years, why can't the 84+ OSes run programs from archive the way Doors CS does yet? It's like if they tried to keep the RAM as low as possible to lure people towards the TI-Nspire CX
agreed. how could they try to make us pay more money? Are they more focused on us students, or their $$$? TI make up your mind, but you better chose the students!

i know my CSE quite well. what has changed is this:
if programs you want to group are in the ARC, it won't show in the possible prgms to select to group.
(really handy for me, because i often group alota stuff)
TI-boy 0.03 works.
Doors CSE 8.0 still works.

if you are going to group programs, make sure the ones you wanna group are in the RAM. otherwise, they WON'T show up.
 ;)
that's all i have noticed so far!

Hmm interesting. Did you write this with lines or is it a mockup? I am curious how fast this would generate on a CSE calc.

But yeah in general it would be best to try new ideas for calcs, since RPS has been done several times. For practice and experimenting it is a nice project, though.
Yes this is a mockup. And yes, i drew this on the graphing screen using lines

*sighs*
I dont have the skill to take on a project like this. Im sorry, but for now this will have to be set to the side.
Pls click the egg!

how hard would a comic veiwer prgm or app would be to make for the cse?
 ;D
i realy want to look through comics on my calc!
how would i attempt to accomplish this?
also, another idea just popped into my thoughts....
how hard would it be to make a nuclear reactor sim or a dam sim?
with the dam sim i was wanting to be able to control water output and display the water flowing through the turbines, and the amount of electricity being produced, plus the amount of water in the reservoir, so if it over flooded it would be game over, and having the ability to trigger the emergency flood release system to prevent possible over-flooding...
seems i have made myself a problem of skills vs. complexity if i attempt to do this prgm....
oh well.
silly me! :P
 :blah:
