Does that mean they sleep at the wheel?

yeong, hacking into a school server is not the same thing as hacking into a secure government network.

Okay. But yeah, 80% of Omnimaga Users are criminal, I bet that almost nobody uses their calculator's ROM in Wabbitemu. I also bet most of use have at least one illegal song, film or program.
So, you'd better get used.
All of those crimes are misdemenors or infractions--there's usually no jail time involved. Kidnapping is a felony that will involve jail time.

And I am used to jokes. I just wanted to be sure that my FBI shadows know it was a joke too.

I'm not paranoid--I just know the government is out there keeping an eye on my activities.

Maybe you should check this.
I know what a joke is, I'm just the stiff who takes everything literally.

If Sir's parents were to take away a calculator bought entirely with his own, legitimately earned money, that's petty larceny (presuming the price of the calc was under whatever the specified amount for grand larceny in his state's criminal codes), and Sir could press charges against his parents for stealing the calculator. Since Sir is carefully documenting his paychecks, they could prove in a court of law that his parents have no claim to possession of the calculator.
Yes, but why would he go that far? If he did that, his parents would be even stricter to him!
I'm not saying that he should do that, Scout. I'm just saying that if he does buy a new calc between now and when he moves out in May, and his parents take it away from him, he does have the option of calling the police on them for taking that particular calc away from him--particularly if they refuse to return it to him when he moves out in May.

Maybe we kidnap Sir?
You do realize that kidnapping is a crime, right?

In the US, you can't call the cops on your parents [while you're underage] unless they've done something to physically harm you. Basically, most of the prevailing law here takes the position that if there are no permanent marks, there's not much that needs to be done.

haha. so, most of us have parents that:
-dont like their children program their calc
-warn their children that they get their calc from them if they dont stop programming (but they cant)
I must be lucky--the only restriction on programming anything (calcs, computers, etc.) that my parents have ever given me is "Don't do anything illegal, and leave all government agencies alone."

edit: something ate the quote when I originally posted this...

27 is a local meme at my school. If you're wondering why I used While 27, try typing the program into your calc while using a one-letter name, then look at the size ;D
* holmes221b looks.
Nice. It's 27. That's actually pretty neat.

For the record, said program has some errors.  You need an End to balance the For statement and the Repeat Statement, so you need to Ends at the end.  Also, if you added the two ends, then you would have to press clear 20 times for your program to exit.  So, I would remove the For(A,1,20) line.
Right now, I'm just happy that when I coded this last night, it worked (i.e., no error messages popped up) on the first try.
* holmes221b adds the second End to code and finds it to make the program much more entertaining.
Ah well, to his/her own, I suppose.

Also, your code will only display if some key is pressed.  Otherwise it won't.
That is kinda the idea. But it is certainly nice to be able to know how to alter the code to get around that.

I haven't made much boredom programs in a long while. Before I started coding I simply remember typing large strings of ASCII art on my calc home screen then pressing enter to scroll down through it.
I've always wanted to learn how to make ASCII art...

There are some boredom programs at the following, but be warned that most of them can crash your calculator and clear your RAM!
Duly noted.

Other Calculators / Boredom = "Stupid" Programs

So last night, instead of being a good student and paying attention in my forensics class (the last couple of folks were presenting their projects, so it wasn't like I was actually missing any material), I played around on my calc.
I ended up creating a program that displays "BORED, SO BORED!" over and over until you press CLEAR or ON, as well as making a picture of a tank using the most complex method possible to create straight lines--first I covered the graph screen with horizontal and vertical lines, then I colored in the squares made by the intersections of those lines that I wanted to have colored in using Pt-On, and then I finished up by erasing the extra lines with Pt-Off.
Until I can figure out a program that draws the picture I made for you, you'll just have to imagine what it looks like (I don't have a link cable with which to upload it to a computer--which actually wouldn't matter, now that I think about it, since I'm currently stuck using a computer I can't download anything on due to my computer crashing last Saturday). But I can share the program I made, so here it is, if you want to try it out:
Code: ("prgmFIDGETY") [Select]
:ClrHome
:For(A,1,20)
:Repeat Ans=45
:getKey
:If Ans
:Disp "BORED, SO BORED!"
:End

Anyone else have programs they've made while bored that they're willing to share? I'll share some of the other programs I've made while bored in the past once others have shared some of theirs (and most of them are actually some what useful, especially when compared to FIDGETY).

Is Chemitab a periodic table with a look-up function (to jump to an element)?
That's the plan.

How? Do you program ASM too, or did you just try one of the ON+ reset combos?
One of the ON+ reset combos, I think.
Maybe she triggered one of those TI-OS glitches or she tried a key combination by guess that happened to be 2nd, +, 7, <, ENTER then 2. (Full mem reset). Maybe she changed batteries and pressed ON+DEL, though.
That combination sounds awfully familar...I don't even remember the last time I changed my batteries (though I can estimate when, since they're of the store-brand kind).

sounds great!  how exactly does the multitab one work though?  I don't think I understood completely, does it come up with a picture of a multiplication table starting at a given point defined by the user?
Not a picture, but a list (n = user defined variable):
Quote
0 x n = 0
1 x n = n
2 x n = 2n
3 x n = 3n
4 x n = 4n
5 x n = 5n
6 x n = 6n
7 x n = 7n
8 x n = 8n
9 x n = 9n
10 x n = 10n
11 x n = 11n
12 x n = 12n
Make sense now?
