Blast Antivirus? Wow, I'd never heard of an Anti Virus, is there a stable version yet?
As far as I know, no. The author (I can't recall who it was) did release a version only to warn a little later that it caused a serious crash..I ahve been off the board for a while though so I can't say for sure whether or not there is a version out there...maybe DJ knows (since he always checks out every topic, which is very polite of him :) )?

well graphmastur I ment it wasn't practical seeing how limited the calc is in memory. Being able to D&D some junk on the calc would be great but, well, seeing the memory constraints...

Ooh that has always bugged me about 3D, to get things to look nice it takes ages to render (my PC is not very good but it should be more then capable to do some 3D work) and then it turns out there is a glitch in your renderings...let's do it again shall we x.x....annoying....

I hope someday rendering over the GPU and CPU at the same time will be made possible, the GPU is extremely powerful and outwhit's the CPU without a doubt plus it's often cheaper and easier to replace...

I have seen hospital's who just make a supercomputer out of 4 high-end GPU's, saves them like $20.000 on a computer-farm...

Progress in some stuff I am/was doing. Plus a nice quote which I really, really like (it's not about day-dreamers! It's about daring to dream)

Okay, I have a new update... I have finally added the Disp command to the list. Apparently I didn't have a bug, but I guess it is always safer to be, well, safe. Also, I forgot to mention that I have not compressed the program. I will start doing that after the next command, though.

The next command I plan to use Line(a,b,x,y,t where it makes rectangles. For now I am going to use the OS routines, but I think I will make my own routines at another date.
Sounds good! Definetely make your own routines! This seems pretty useful to be one of the libraries for KOS, by eliminating any TIOS routines it should be KOS compatible already (albeit you should inform Sir about that...)

ASM / Re: Quicksort in z80 (note: not by me)

My only concern at a glance is how it keeps popping without pushing.
that is what the 'ret z' is for, to prevent a pop when the bottom/end of the stack is reached...

I wonder if BlastAntiVirus would detect all these as harmful...the batterypull it certainly would detect but those basic programs? I wouldn't bet it...does anybody know how that is going btw? the Blast Antivirus program?

I think the whole PPT idea is just a beg for a slightly more fancy looking notefolio. NoteFolio was pretty good (though slow) and it would not allow drawings. If in this PPT-like program we could have pictures between the text then that would be very helpful already!! Just needs some special computer software so that the picture fits on the page but that should be no problem at all!

About the teacher/test-mode, I would not do that...it did give me an idea for a new command though, something like 'Hide(<objectname>)' and Unveil(<objectname>)' (I used 'objectname' as a generalisation for strings, matrices, programs and other vars). Those commands should just hide or show the object in the file manager. See it like the option in windows where you can decide whether or not to show hidden folders...

ooh brings me to a other (obvious) idea, password protected folders(??). Altough honestly I have no clue wether KOS uses a FAT like file system? (I believe it's intended to do so but I am not sure(?))

Edit: @graphmastur, if that was his original question then I would say: don't try it. It basically then breaksdown to using the calc as a USB-stick which is cool but far from practical...(ok, WFRNG is not practical either but...you get the point)

if sizes become a problem then on-comuter conversion and maybe compression must be done (?)

good querstions though, I am curious about those as well...

Cool topic! I did to do alot in 3D software, notthat I was good at it at all but I tried quite a few pieces of software. Anim8or is a pretty good piece of freeware but the best 3d freeware is of course blender. Never got the hang of it though I was too impatient for it simply because the GUI is very confusing in the beginning, all left and right mouse-clicks are seemingly reversed. It is said however that once you get the hang of it, it's far more intuitive to use and thus faster then any paid software, 3Ds max or Maya.

Some very easy to use and cool pice of 3D terrain generating software is Terragen it's pretty cool!! I still want to make a game someday with my own made models and props...and I want it to be the best in its kind hehe...sweet dreams...

edit: ZBrush seems to be good as well but honestly, I have a tablet and it still worked crap for me. I guess you really need to be a sculpturer already in order to make something good out of it...Zbrush does produce extremely high quality models though...with lots and lots of poly's

Well I wonder how much it really matters in terms of speed wether or not something is included in the kernel. Actually to be honest I never comprehended what a kernel is except that it is the lowest, core, system. I mean the word 'kernel' does not really make you suspect anything whereas BIOS (Basic Input Output Service) is pretty obvious...

Anyway, great progress! I am looking forward to paly around with it a little albeit I may not understand half of what you are doing :P
ooh well, I am pretty sure you'll outrun TIos with ease haha...:)

I'm having trouble figuring out the fog of war for ships, so I need time during Christmas Vacation to actually sit down and plan it.  With that said, I'll be taking a break to fix some ASM lesson bugs, as well as to work on Correlation.

THIS IS NOT QUITTING THE PROJECT.  I'm only taking a 4-week break.
Take all the time you need, I still need to make those buildings for the Cythid but I guess that has lower priority since you are fiddling with the game engine. If you want me to take a look at some parts of the engine just PM me, albeit I don't program alot in asm I do understand it fairly well and maybe in a switch in perspective could help you out?

Anyways I admire your persistence! Well done!

the way chis id coming along sounds like  a game thats right up my alley
I am confused by what you mean ???

@Matthias1992 I hope you don't get too busy or something x.x
Recently school has been top-priority I had some work to finish, I still have...I will finish this project though, don't worry. I started to get ill today so that's a good excuse to get to the programming!

with 'right up my alley' I think he means that this is the sort of game he enjoys playing (?)

/offtopic:
Sorry for my inactivity in general btw...I still keep an eye around here every now and then but I don't really have the time to post anything or reply...
I am glad to see the site is still as vibrant and alive as ever!

ooh, progress
xlib should suit this kind of project nicely. your mono graphics look delicious so far(well, except maybe for the player). good luck on a demo!
yes you are right about the player...
he needs something 'extra' maybe a hat? maybe i'll size him back up to 8x8...
once again thanks for all the encouragements, that should keep me working on it! Don't get your hopes up but maybe, just maybe I can get something 'out there' in a couple of hours. It will however be not something worth spending time on tough...

I'll keep you all updated!
