A strange, albino boy clad in dark blue stood at the door, his eyes filled with  cold malice.  His hand flew beneath a cloak and drew a small, curved sword...like a flash he slit open the high gaurds, strode to the young princess and with the touch of his blue lips upon her, all but the faintest trace of life left her.  The boy extracted the triforce, the glowing power of the gods, from deep within her mind.  With that, he locked away the castle gates, let loose his guards, and monsters and bandits of every kind crept out of the wood works.  However, a small boy clad in forest green, eyes blue and bright and hair the color of gold began to wake...a woman named Impa, both happy and sad, took the lad down from his bed side and made to try again to rouse him from his coma...
  "Child, do you remeber thy name?"
  "Well, no...I fear I don't."
  "Well then, what would you have me call you?"

off of that note, it would be realy cool if you had link actualy "use" and equip items...like having to slash his sword right when he comes at an enemy or pushing the enemy with the sheild, shielding right as an arrow comes at him, ect. kinda like Paper Mario.

For the time being, Necroband is on hold as I work on a more convention rpg using the progress I have made...feel like I need to make a little shake up and the old engine was on my last nerve.  I am making a game using most of the engine, but it will no longer be random, lowly graphical, nor tboh (turn based over head) but will have a FF like system.  More on it as it warrants.

Zleda: you move a character around and attack in real time (no turns), as well...item collection exists and often you will have to collect a new item to procede and you also use items in combat (need a boomerang to hit the switch that is out of reach, and can throw it to stun enemies that are running at you so you can slash them with a sword...)  The game occurs intirely in an over head/bird's eye view perspective where you can move, interact, and face north, south, east and west.

FF: varies slightly, normaly the game has a huge number of places to go, things to buy, and bosses to beat.  The game is often a round-robin turn based style, you controll a group of people who all make choices on what kind of attacks to do in a combat screen and then after all of your characters have made their choice (magic, attack, defend, run, item...ect) the enemies take their turn until either you all die/escape or they do.  Also, their tend to be stats into the tens of thoundands in size and you can see damage like 'you lost 349,3401 hp' .  Also, complex multi-character story lines with lots of spoken dialogue (text.)  Arguably, the best FFs are VII and X...arguably the worst is GBA FF tactics.

Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi/Mario RPG: has interactive turn based battle where you may be able to, during the enemies turn, jump over an attack to dodge or swing your hammer at just the right point to deal triple damage.  Stats tend to be pretty low, and the games often have light hearted plots based on the mario brother universe.  Often, you will gain new skills and items you can use in battle and to solve puzzles.

Rogue and derivitavies: a game that is like a turn based zelda, you take turns moving and attacking on the map screen as do enemies...generaly, their is no story... just items and monsters that get progressively more powerful as you go down the the bottom of the game world, and a town level resides at the top where you can buy and seel items.

what would be realy nice is if it alowed you to have 2 or 3 graphic buffers...draw onto one as a background and have another as fore ground...use it as a way to generate gray scale...possibly a few psuedo 3D things could be done this way (like drawing the horizon on a layer, 2 layer mid-ground, 2 layer fore-ground, then manualy drawing the hud and such...)

also, true sprite rotation would be very cool (25, 45, 90 degrees, ect.)

Well, you could always make a 16X16 tile map your self you know...

(this if for 16X16)
-loop for Y and X till screen drawn
-check matrix at Y/X->T
-truncate T/6->R
-T-R->C
-draw 8X8 sprite for C,R at X,Y
-draw 8X8 sprite for C+1,R at X+1,Y
-draw 8X8 sprite for C,R+1 at X,Y+1
-draw 8X8 sprite for C+1,R+1 at X+1,Y+1
-END

If you don't understand...to bad...
-------------------------------
any ways, what Id like is the ability to "generate" a basic programs from another, and to be able to combine them together, ect.

Also, generaly being able to use true strings of asm code would be nice.

Like the app vars in Finance, it would be nice to have extra strings at our disposal as well as sprite scaling.

Finaly, the line/circle/box commands would be nice...especialy if they had dithered options and you chose when to update the lcd.

well, I am realy trying to make time right now.  All of my teachers have decided that senior year should be as misserable as possible and I am sick of writing papers about why duncan in mcbeth was prtrayed as a great ruler though he historicaly wasn't...any ways, I removed all of the elemental flags as they are to complicated and unmanagable...now their are slay flags, sustain flags, plus flags, and activate flags (items that cast spells)

UPDATE:
I killed having items on map, now when enemies drop an item it asks you if you want to take it or not...which frees up a lot of map memory and sprites...upside is I should have a lot more inventory room for players now

I am sure I will find more stuff to kill in the time to kill, on a up note...I added traps  :overheat:xplod.gif

Well, I decided that quality>quantity so I am removing a lot of spells and limmiting it to about 5 spells per magic item, as well I am planning on having a surgeon who can implant devices into your body (like atrificial eyes, retractable claws, teleporter, ect.) after he has researched them...at a massive cost.  Research will take a long time...at least without funding, and I plan to have every implant increase the amount you consume food (they are powered by your body after all).  Also, I cut weapon/armor/gun flags to two, and items to one.  Every item can have flags that give it special effects and abilities.  Finaly, I have decided to put semi futeristic/scifi elements into the fantasy world it is.
