meh, the internet has horrified me too many times over the years for anything short of homeopathy to make me audibly respond.

or have certain monsters cast different spells at certain HP levels.
that's always the worst :P a cactoid that, just before dying, casts 1000 needle and kills you in one hit, etc.

also, squidget: i am seeing this thread for the first time. you made the smooth scrolling gray look very nice! how is it on real hardwarez?

just take the same method commonly used for pictures and apply it to text.
e's appear a lot, for example, so make 10 indicate an e and save longer runs(like 111110) for less common letters like Z and X

well, there's always huffman.
and, because a game like this is mostly text data, this is one of the few situations where an asm program would be considerably smaller than its basic equivalent!

AP Chem - 100 (this class is a complete joke)
oh chemistry... XD
have you gotten to the part where they tell you that stretching out a clump of steel wool increases its volume?

The GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), pronounced "JIF", was designed by CompuServe and the official specification released in June of 1987.

here is a link. look at it.

however, i really shouldn't be making a big deal of it as i pronounce C# C number and xor times-or just to piss people off.

Other Calculators / Re: Key Group Check Program
« on: October 30, 2010, 09:37:56 pm »
well, each key on the calc keyboard has a bit assigned to it which is set when pressed and reset when not pressed. however, it doesnt really have it's own because(i guess?) it would take too long for the processor to go through and check a bit for every single key every time it want's to know what keys are pressed down and so the keys are instead broken into several keygroups. the processor then has to indicate which keygroup it wants to check and then which bit it want's to check. for some reason, certain combinations of keys will return the value of others when they are pressed because of this? i would have to read up on this again as the last time i did was over a year ago. thepenguin or any of the other asm programmers could actually explain it.
the purpose of this program is to display graphically what keys the processor is reading as being pressed down, which can then be compared with what keys are actually being pressed to ensure that a certain key combo that may be used in your game wont trigger another key that does something completely different.

you are trying the cutman intro level, i assume? this is not a complete version of the game, and the bots are still very good at small maps and not so good at large maps(that does not hurt online play in the least, however).
anyways, try climbing to the top of the ladders and grabbing different weapons. some of them are very potent...

definitely in agreement about the intro length(especially if it's just cuberunner, pugluna, and gemini...)
...
ooh, you grew your hair out since the last video you posted. looking good!

oh, and while we're bringing up pronunciation stuff: .gif is jiff, as in the peanut butter

trivial matters aside, i rather like it and am now even more eager for the actual show!

here are my two most favouritist doom mods ever!
Megaman 8-bit Death Match
8-bit megaman in 3D! need i say more? YES(it's that good)! there is online multiplayer as well as a singleplayer mode. one can play as any of the robot masters (plus roll, protoman, the other usual suspects) and use the weapons one typically gains from those masters(airman's airshot, cutman's scissor boomerang thing, bombman's... well duh). it is the coolest.

Foreverhood
a wonderfully surreal, hand-drawn environment with a curious storyline and loads of interesting things to see.

I wrote a really crude version of this at one point, but yours has boxes! :P
Nice job. :)
yes, the graphics are very helpful. thanks a lot, ztrumpet!
Lol I totally didn't thought about AxeCoderz. Now if MaxCoderz did not exist and if we seeked for a new name and only did Axe programming, we could almost become AxeCoderz ;D
or maxcoderz could make an axecoderz subforum :P

Runer: that is amazing and i now know who to contact(assuming you have the time) when trying to deal with picture compression(which i am anticipating to be a huge issue in what i am currently working on)

/\as did i =D
my teacher thinks he can program and it made him angry when he discovered that everything he had learned to "program" on his "ipad" over a period of 6 months i could do with crap z80 hardware in a tiny fraction of the space and without the help of his lame object oriented programming :3
