Miscellaneous / Re: any scouts in here?
« on: October 05, 2010, 07:36:30 pm »
i was at one point, but i quit out of frustration. i completed everything i needed for life, but officially i never got past tenderfoot because the dude running it forgot to give me any awards for an entire year(despite my constant remindings). it was like i was invisible; only two people in the entire group knew my name.
an example:
at one point we got a new troupe leader, and i was the first person to shake his hand and welcome him when he walked in the door. half a year passed, during which time i attended many camping trips and such, and after that i got very sick and didnt go again for two weeks. when i came back he walked up to me, shook my hand, and asked if i was new...

i didnt even officially quit; i just stopped going and nobody ever said anything.

/\that should work(unless the value you're dealing with is greater than 5k, that is)
both
:If V>65536
and
:If V<<0
should work, although im not sure which is faster(or if they're exactly the same)

all right, i converted the sprites to hex and they are now on my calc. on to PHYSICS!
btw, i had to compress the tank-pointing-up sprite to fit in a 12*16(i hope you dont mind)

in the meantime, here are sprites for jason(both tiny, sidescrolling-outside the tank, and large, overhead-view)

Let's all agree to meet somewhere on the 31st of November this year!

summer would probably be more manageable.

now im imagining a huge crowd of nerds walking around some unsuspecting city all carrying calcs and calling one another things like juju, deepthought, dj etc :P
i bet we'd get plenty of weird looks

EDIT:
That's really cool juju!

@SnakeX
How do you mix up a blue and red lobster at a Red Lobster restaurant though? :P

well, if you get lucky at the red lobster.. you might just order up netham45 by accident then you'd meet him XD
See, now I want to try that...

"Yes, I'd like one Netham45, please."

Wonder what would happen if someone actually said that :P Even cooler/odder though, what if someone actually said that and then they brought back a blue lobster :P
even better, we could all head to a red lobster to eat, ask for some netham45's, and (when we get nothing but blank stares) make some comment about supposing we'll have to manage on our own and then pull out massive quantities of blue food dye

I like it!  Nice job, shmibs.  Thanks a lot for all the sprites you've done for me.  That should be the last one I'll need.
alright then, glad i could help!
if there does happen to be anything else, don't hesitate to ask.

if you're looking for somewhere to start and already have some knowledge about the workings of basic then you should check out quigibo's Axe Parser. it's a good way of transitioning from basic to asm, if that's your goal, and is fast enough to make wonderful games on it's own. where did you buy that calc? if it isnt used then i doubt it has the RAM pages.

oh, and here are some peanuts(dozens of slightly different iterations are to follow, im sure):

sorry about the slowness. i havent really been on here for the past two days because of my father

anyways, i decided to try something completely different than the other. im not sure if they'll work well together, though, and if you dont like it i'd gladly make another. it's some sort of fish-man wearing a t-shirt and carrying a massive gun

ooh, delicious.
you should slow down the speed of the cursor, though(as in the screenshot it looks like that's a bit of a problem) and then add a gui mouse or something with acceleration that can be swapped to for moving across the screen quickly

oh dear...
this is not what i was hoping to see when i woke up this morning. i guess i'll just have to stock up on 84+SE's(although i have no clue where im going to get the money, seeing that i have to buy a laptop, pay for college stuff, and a hundred other things).
