TI-BASIC / Re: Correlation Compiler
« on: September 25, 2012, 02:25:17 pm »
correlation was never finished. there are betas available here, but you'd probably be better off checking out batlib or grammer from xeda here, as they are actively maintained still.

EDIT: oh, and correlation doesn't have a separate compiler; it's a flash app that uses hooks to extend the functionality of BASIC programs.

tokens runs just fine under mono, so there's no reason you have to boot into wondows.

hand-written equation support, if it worked, would be the single most useful thing i've ever seen in a calculator =D

what exactly does "anti-cheating" entail?

i haven't looked at the rest of your code yet to see if there might be any other problems, but one thing that has caused such issues for me in the past was the fact that sourcecoder turns the small v token axe uses to designate appvars into the actual lowercase letter. if the program you got out of sourcecoder is using

:"vBOUNCMP"→Str1
:"vBOUNCE"→Str2

then try editing those on the calculator and changing them back to the 2nd+8 token.

Computer Projects and Ideas / Re: Project Adoption
« on: September 23, 2012, 06:18:42 am »
well, there's no reason to not have multiple, if there are enough people excited about both to maintain them. even something like a calculator emulator is something worth having multiple projects if each one goes about it in a different way that appeals to a slightly different crowd. even though it's still very much unfinished, i prefer wxWabbitemu to TilEm 2 still, for example; not because of any lack of functionality in TilEm, but rather because i prefer the stylistic approach (the interface layout, the way the screen is emulated, the keyboard controls, etcetera). i also know that there are multiple people who prefer TilEm, and that it's a great boost to the community.

there are probably a few people who would want to. don't expect an answer that quickly, though :P
we aren't a massive forum, so it takes a bit for people to reply to things, and it's the middle of the night right now for people in america, anyways.

on that note, please don't double post. it's impolite, and your thread was still well within the last few most recently edited.

EDIT: oh, and people are much more likely to respond to something like this if you give an example of what work you've already done on a project. if you haven't done anything at all yet, then it's probably a better idea to start before you ask other people to write things for you.

this is looking rather cool indeed.
is there any way to make the character sprite be masked by walls that are behind him already? the jumping ends up looking a bit strange otherwise.

Other / Firefox OS / Boot 2 Gecko
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:27:15 pm »
Firefox OS (formerly known as Boot 2 Gecko) is a new, open-source mobile operating system by the mozilla team. unlike it's competitors, it runs web technology almost directly on top of a linux kernel (it uses Gonk, a stripped-down linux distro with plenty of hardware support for HTML5/javascript etcetera) to make them MUCH faster. basically, the entire operating system is a web browser, with the interface written in HTML5 and completely customisable by the end user.
a couple of hardware companies have signed on to produce phones, and prototypes are already making the rounds. so, who's excited?

here are a couple of articles: rawkes.com blog.mozzila.org

EDIT (Eeems): Here are a few official sites about FxOS

this will be really useful for people trying to keep track of large maps (or who want to add documentation/walkthroughs to their games)

very impressive - how are you dealing with water particles? don't tell me you're doing that much cellular automata at 6mhz :)
so it is cellular automata, just with 8*8 cells

this _is_ looking pretty cool =) what kinds of traps do you have planned? maybe this could be some sort of prison-break thing? maybe something bioshock-esque? a high security prison underneath the atlantic ocean.
