the only one i've bothered naming is my 84+ SE, Gary. he makes a brief appearance in the only video on my youtub account link
naming things is fun, though. my craptop (a 2007 macbook on which i have never once booted a mac os and which i have put through an unprecedented amount of abuse) is named Clue. i also have a pipe named Shiro, but let's not get into that ![]() 904

how'd you go about it? Or+Xoring rounded edge sprites over the water and Oring rounded water sprites over the ground? or does your tile system automatically draw a different sprite depending on the tiles around the one being drawn?
and what did you end up doing to the rain? 907
Nostalgia / Re: Nostalgia - An Axe RPG« on: September 13, 2011, 06:51:08 pm »
the rain looks SO much better =DD
i like the edge rounding as well. it only affects ground tiles, though, yes? 908

you can run it off of a flash drive fairly easily. i just installed it on a virtual drive, and 10.10 classic is only 3.9 gigs with lots of extras and such included, and you can always run a more lightweight desktop environment like lxde.

last night i felt the urge to change around my system theme again, and just so happened to have been persona 3 FES a couple of hours before, so i chose that. i tend to get a little carried away with this sort of thing...
![]() the first screenie is my desktop, the second is firefox, the third is my xsplash screen, and the video is what plays as an "animated background" (using xwinwrap) on my GDM prior to logging in, sound included(via canberra). 911

i woke up to the television blaring and my father calling people that day. it's still one of my most vivid memories.
anyone who still cares about this should read Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. 912

the challenge it poses is exactly why some people stick around in this community. that and being able to work directly with the hardware, controlling anything and everything about it. i'm forcing myself to work on higher level languages like those you mentioned, but oop just doesn't cut it
![]() good luck with your future, both in terms of your career and your hobbyist activities. it's been nice to have you here. oh, and if you ever have any C# or Java questions, feel free to come back and ask people here. we have plenty of programmers for things like that as well. 913

something you could do to make the rain look more realistic would be to have several different possible animations to be drawn in each tile and then apply a random matrix of the different values every time it runs through a full loop. that wouldn't be much more difficult, but would look a lot more rain-like.
i love the chainblade. that could definitely help in some interesting puzzles. i also love to see that old projects are still being worked on. keep it up, guys. =) 914

i very like the way this is looking. i probably won't ever use it for a project, though, because physics is just too fun to completely skip over in the writing process. what's the restitution on those boxes? they bounce a lot.
