TNOC makes an auto backup, right?

http://www.smackjeeves.com/ is a pretty nice (and free) host specifically for this type of thing, with layouts too, but you don't get your own domain, but I think they'll let you set one up.

UberGraphX / Re: UberGraphX - Ubercalculator« on: April 20, 2011, 08:12:40 pm »
It also can't replace any modern PC games. You could play an open-source game similar to them, but you couldn't play them directly.
Yeah, this definitely has a bigger market than just calcs: you could advertise it as a cheap netbook-like calc with all the functions you could possibly want, blah blah, laptop (referring to the proffesional edition) and offer the regular student edition for people who are still in HS. 1610
Humour and Jokes / Re: TI employees« on: April 20, 2011, 06:07:58 pm »
18: When you use brand new hardware that is far above what we've used before in a new calc, make sure it runs incredibly slowly, so people will still buy the old calcs.

Can't you just make it a 4096-bit key, or higher? Since the brute force tech is the same type of tech used in decryption, it's easy to keep ahead of the brute forcers by using higher keys, since you can get the same fancier computer they have. It still remains out of their reach to decrypt.
What about having an algorithm that changes every X months? It would switch to a random semiprime, more often than the decryption time takes. That way, even if someone did factor your semiprime, by the time they did, you're on a different number! Edit: By Technology, I was referring to faster, better hardware, not the software algorithms. 1613

Hmm, like having asm inline? That would be awesome!

Also, DJ, there's a Lua command, that tests for a color display, returning (I think) 1 if it's a CX and 0 for non-CX. I'm betting the hardware is pretty similar too, besides the screen and RAM.

Computer Programming / Re: Programming on the Android smartphone« on: April 20, 2011, 12:25:13 am »
Only thing is the internals suck for what they charge.
Too much flipping stuff means it will wear out extremely quickly. I recommend a 2nd Lock style approach instead, and having dedicated arrow keys. They won't take too much space. Don't forget you'll get more buttons by having only the screen on the top, and the entire 83+ surface area on the bottom. 1617
Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: Ubuntu« on: April 20, 2011, 12:08:56 am »
Well, depends on what you want to do. First off, do you have a non-integrated video card? If so, you should install the graphics drivers for them. Don't worry about ATI, and Ubuntu will notify you if it can install the nvidia ones. It's worth it.
First thing to learn: Try to install stuff from the package manager first, before resorting to online sources. Also, install these: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10071991/Tilp%201.14%20debs/Tilp%201.14%20debs.zip They're all there, it's a more recent version than the one in the package manager. It's a linking manager, like TI-connect. The update is worth it, especially if you have an nspire. Also, if you find it a little slow, you might try Xubuntu, or another XFCE-based distro. It's not quite so hard on the CPU and RAM. A P4 should run decently on reg. GNOME, though. 1618
