Both options would work well.  And Axe would be quicker to learn, and teaches many Asm concepts, but hey, nothing wrong with jumping in head-first!

It's for the SNES, has turn order like you described, with one twist: Dragons that are on your side, but you can't control. The enemy usually also has dragons.

We got it from TI's site, with an accidental upload when they updated the OS. They fixed it in a few hours, but we got it
