I thought it was the nspire's contact springs that wore out...if it's just the keypad contacts rubbing off, that's relatively easy to fix with a little solder.

Ok. That would explain why you don't need ndless to use it Wait, does this skip boot2 validation? or am I just getting my hopes up? Offset 10-13: If nonzero, BOOT1 will attempt to run DIAGS by default; if zero, it will skip straight to BOOT2. (Either behavior can be overridden with the Esc+Menu+G key combination.)

CalcNet does not currently support axe, as far as I've heard. It definitely will eventually though, with axioms.
I take it it will use hotseat multiplayer? (share one or two calcs)

Isn't an upgrade from GM7 to Gm8 free?
Oh, and btw, you can use all the pro functions in the trial version, you just have to compile it into an exe every single time, rather than test it in the GM program.

If this was accomplished, it would probably work for many different calcs as well, since the syntax is usually identical. One exception is the 85 and 86, since their commands are often shortened (outpt instead of output) and their menu function is very different as well (menu(position, name, lbl, position, name, label) whereas others are Menu(Title,Name,Lbl,name, lbl)) but otherwise very cross-compatible. Ideally it would also be written in Java then we might even get it on the nspire

I would love to see how it's done. It might have more possibilities than bypassing downgrades. Of course, I can see why they would be reluctant to say how they did it.

sure, but I'm not online much. If someone mentioned a server, and a time... Edit: BTW, can anyone think of the server mod that makes it so maps don't generate new land? the zelda map definitely needs that I have it fully ported into Beta now. Here's the world save. Edit2 for clarity

The topic title pretty much says it all. Does it mess with some memory during bootup, to disable the code, or does it do something really weird?

I saw an 83+ to 86 converter for PC on ticalc.org a while ago (before I joined, when I actually had an 86)
On this note, now I wish even more for an 86 emu for nspire (with 4x overclock support, since many games actually used this)

Do you know how to get to the maintenance menu? from there you delete the OS, then when you turn it on it will say "install os now" or similar. Use the linker to install 1.7 from there.
For the clickpad, hold ON-Home-Enter-P while it turns on (at least until the bar is half full)

No, you don't need nleash to go to 1.7, only for 1.4 and below. @merauder That should work perfectly, but you'll have to use only the clickpad for booting up. Once ndless 2.0 comes out you can use that instead, and just use the touchpad. From what I can see, a release shouldn't be too far away either (not actually a comment from ExtendeD or anyone from ndless team, just my thoughts and opinion)

I just had an awesome, really hard to implement idea: Tron, with a raycaster!

You might just have an option, perhaps in a menu, that allows you to choose which keypad if you need to switch between them.
