185: You spend more time in math class programming the math program for the concept of the day than it would take for you to solve them without a calc at all.
186: When your LCD dies, you still have your calc around for sentimental value 187: You have a computer in your room constantly running the nspire RSA perl script. 2913
General Calculator Help / Re: Lower-case letters on the nspire?« on: June 21, 2010, 07:00:03 pm »
Thanks! I originally thought that was to tell it to compile using lowercase!
This gives me fond memories of my 86.... 2914
General Calculator Help / Lower-case letters on the nspire?« on: June 21, 2010, 02:53:34 pm »
I know that only specific OS versions have it, but is it available on the nspire? I might be missing an option to turn it on or something. Anybody know if this is possible? I'd really like lowercase, it makes axe programs look much nicer, especially in app form.

Lol, I'm posting this from in jbasic OS, through the google browser.
Any chance at a URL Bar for that? Also, When I made the Browser large enough to use, the bar got cut in half, so only the bottom half of "Google Browser" and the circles are visible I noticed that This browser has Flash support ![]() Edit: Hang on, now the whole window bar is gone. 2916
The Axe Parser Project / Re: Calling Brave Axe Warriors!« on: June 20, 2010, 11:33:21 pm »
Well, I got the beta, just sent it to my calc, and here are my results so far (with an Nspire)
It loads, looks great, acts great. Compiles regular programs just fine Compiles apps suprisingly fast, nearly as fast as progs! Runs progs at exactly the same speed as asm( compiled ones! So far, I give it 2 thumbs up! One Question: Will Recompiling have the same negative effect as deleting? It probably won't affect me, since I'm using an nspire, but it would still be good to know. Edit: I've got one issue now. When compiling to an app and getting an error message, it reports the type properly, but won't go to the program if it's archived. It gives ERR: UNKNOWN ERR Code: 3A24569 when you press prgm. Not much of a change over 2.6, though. It doesn't crash the calc, and in 2.6 archived progs would output gibberish anyways. Maybe it could be changed to ERR: Archived in future axe versions. 2917

I can help testing with another nspire...
Will there be a way to run one app from within another? That would be a fairly simple way to overcome the 16kb limit without using external variables. This sounds really handy. Now I can have Portal X, Half Life: OC, and all those other axe games without archiving and unarchiving all the time! Edit: DJ, will this private release be usable in contests? I could see it going both ways. 2918

I just hope that someone will find a way to get knightOS on the nspire eventually, maybe with ndless.

Axe / Re: Sound in Axe« on: June 14, 2010, 05:10:47 pm »
Perhaps axe could support external .wav files in the future! It couldn't be used for music, too big, but you could have really high quality sound.
Maybe MIDI for the music..... 2921

Well, it doesn't matter too much to me. I've used both top and bottom bars, and I must say, for me at least, it makes little difference.
Hmm, I just had a cool idea. Run this from a terminal in linux, after killing Gnome. You have a lightweight, java based Desktop Environment! Can java run outside of a window manager? Edit: Hey....check this out! http://lobobrowser.org/java-browser.jsp That might make a good browser for you! 2922

Hmm...One thing I think it should have soon is a taskbar, or some other way of opening the tasks you have now. I found myself with a black screen last time, because I closed everything.

KnightOS (In hopes that someone will eventually crack the nspire's RSA) HL2: OC Advance Wars Mosaic Honestly, I kinda need a PC-based IDE. Interesting how mine is so different from other people's. 2925
Gaming Discussion / Re: The Marine dance (well... a bit randomness, but it was SC2 related, so...)« on: June 14, 2010, 04:02:57 pm »
Actually, doesn't the editor let you do some really crazy stuff? It seems to me that they may have set up some fancy animations for standing still. It's probably a lot more complicated than that though :p
Maybe I should learn to use the SC2 editor.... |
