Thanks!
Oh, and for those concerned about Xeda's engine being 8x8, I'm fairly sure the plan is 8x8 tiles with 16x16 characters. You can accomplish more terrain detail, and you have the option for larger sprites if you wish.
Oh, does anyone know if we'll need edge sprites? As in, sprites that merge two types of tiles, like grass to rock.

gparted is the one Ubuntu uses. And you really shouldn't have done that. It takes a long time to do because data needs to be moved around in order to allow splitting the partition evenly into Used space and Unused space, so a new partition can actually be made without fragmenting the drive.

A grass sprite. Animated according to Xeda's engine's current requirements if I did it right (4 level grey, 8 frames) also uses only the greys and white, so outlined characters are clearly distinguishable.

It's actually exactly the opposite: An X session can only exist inside of a terminal session.

Yeah. I should probably put it in a separate thread, though.

It takes you to another terminal workspace. Ctrl+Alt+ a number 1-6 take you to terminals, and X sessions generally get hosted on 7 and above (although they occasionally take one of the lower ones)

Since you're the one working on it, you get a great deal of sway in that area. I think the consensus was turn-based, due to its simplicity and separation from the map. Being more separate helps in big group projects like this. Also, a better version of the grass: No black, just the 2 grays and white. It's also more uneven.

Here's a grass animation I made for you. Should be a little less distracting The normal size version The blown up version Not quite was I was trying for, but I think it looks nice. Here's a 96x64 tiled view (as if it filled the screen) I made the grey by drawing it in B/W then applying a 1x1 gaussian blur. Then I posterized it to 4 colors.

Even those could be substantially different. They all rely heavily on OS hooks, which are not even close to guaranteed. If TI drops assembly compatibility (which they did) then there's no reason to preserve hooks either.

4488: You know that omni has always and always will exist, and therefore needs no founding date.

Really? I can't find any posts from that far back. Although, I think I do remember something about a site crash. Bad memory.

4483: You know that ponies are not really a reason for calculators. 4484: You know that because the first pony post was in 2007, but the site was founded in 2005, and ticalc.org has existed since 1997. Q.E.D.

The zHelp program that comes with zStart gives documentation of all those shortcuts on-calc.

Oh, that is good news! I'm always glad to be wrong about something like that.

Rule #1: Don't have both TI's software and TilP at the same time.
