As long as it's cost effective, a big screen never hurts. Character size needs to be low for ACT standards, but that's not difficult.

I still think you underestimate the work in laying out a PCB, with CPU, RAM, battery, and I/O all handled properly.

Well, technically you can run xorg through linux which is in turn run by ndless, but it's not wonderfully fast.

Minecraft Discussion / Willrandship's Minecraft Server
« on: February 08, 2013, 12:16:29 am »
So, I've set up a minecraft server. It runs 24/7 as of now.

It has a mod that gives a console-based shop, but all offers are player to player.

The currency is flint-based, and is kept in chests marked by signs. No protection on those chests, so players can just take the money out!

There's a multi-home plugin, with unlimited named homes.

Raiding is allowed, Griefing is not. Difference is that one is for personal profit, the other is for antagonistic/destructive/trolling purposes. ie there's no reason to blow up someone's house, but you are perfectly justified to take their diamond statue. :P

Anyway, the IP is:

A01514559-1.bluezone.usu.edu:25565

We need more players to get a stable economy going! There's already enough stuff at the shop that you won't want for materials, and the world is mostly untouched.

tl;dr: Mostly Vanilla, player-based economy, pvp/raiding allowed, griefing not allowed.

Well, you can't start making a case until you have the hardware down, otherwise you won't know the dimensions of the screen, board, keypad, etc. available for the design. You can make all the proof of concept drawings you want, but none of them will matter until that information is known.

You can run X. You can compile C code. You can even run graphical web browsers, but that's really slow. (Command line ones are faster)

How about an FPGA based environment? Get a high-quality chip, something with a few million logic cells (preferably with an open source development environment) and it's easy to make a soft processor plus all sorts of extra hardware that can be reconfigured in real time.

Imagine being able to build a logic structure that calculates your graph in parallel, or a 3D graphics accelerator that handles your rendering. FPGAs are cool.

TI Z80 / Re: zStart - an app that runs on ram clears

FYI: I think the zstart on Ticalc.org has two of the 83+ version. When I send either to my calc they're named zstart83.

I'm using the link from here now :P lesson learned, but you might want to fix that.

Not to mention fastinvsqrt!

A project I've been thinking about actually addresses this kind of issue: Imagine a processor where all the undocumented instructions are just small FPGA logic grids. You can make them do pretty much anything, as long as it's not too long or insane. (Ie put reg A in reg B while writing reg A to a memory location)

I never realized how bad of a singer Beyonce really was until yesterday. I've never actually seen her perform before.

Python is turing-complete, so you should be able to do literally anything.

Would it be possible to have x-y output, so you can write to any row?

How big is the SD card image? It would be really helpful to be able to see it all.

Well, that's not easier if it's built into a binary. If it's a shell script, then you would just alter that particular line of code.
