TNOC removes the boot2 add-on. If you're running 3.0.2 and you didn't do that before you already have it. If you have a CX it doesn't exist.
If all you care about is going to 3.0.2 and not to 1.7 and below, it doesn't matter at the moment. 709

TI loves to screw with their education market. Never underestimate their ability to do so.

Shmibs, the speed per-pixel isn't the problem. It comes more from the fact that you have an extreme number more pixels to deal with.
Example: A small box of water (60x60x60 should be enough to show it well) has 216000 pixels, versus a 2D 3600 pixels. That's 60x the work. 712
TI-Nspire / Re: Calling all Linux Kernel developers!« on: November 20, 2012, 05:56:19 pm »
It's probably better to port an emulator for a specific system. Mednafen uses a lot of the same code for various systems, so it has to abstract certain components, adding extra complexity. Same goes for RetroArch and MAME.
If zSNES wasn't written half in Assembly I'd recommend it. Then again, if zSNES wasn't half assembly, it wouldn't be nearly as fast as it is ![]() 713

well, powder is written in java......

Unicode FTW
I especially like how you can have 1,112,064 characters. 715

Well, but if we look at water on a molecular level we find many, many variable-length gaps between the molecules. Often, these are larger than the molecules themselves.

The image resizing only needs to be done once, so it will probably end up being bicubic. (default option in GIMP and many other decent photo editors)
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a palleted system, but if it's there it will probably be adaptive pallete, since the screen is capable of far more. And I seriously doubt it will be reduced to 16-color. 256-color seems far more likely (16 is only a nybble per pixel. 256-color adaptive pallete is easier to write in C) 717

Wow. Just wow.
For those who aren't sure what that is, it's essentially a port of one of the most complex songs from Chrono Trigger (A SNES game) to NES hardware. The amazing part is, I don't think I can tell the difference without listening to the two at the same time. 718

I hope they upgrade the RAM quite a bit as well.
Maybe they're not using a larger image format. It might be that they just use the old size, with backgrounds and whatnot completely ignored. That would explain where it all went. |
