Computer Programming / Re: Change the font in a terminal
« on: October 31, 2012, 02:09:22 am »
That is a good suggestion. I found that fbterm, a particular framebuffer terminal, supports ttf fonts. I'll keep that for a non-X.org version. (Something else I was after :D )

Oh, and more good news. Apparently, even though xterm's "default" option is no-ttf, most distributions compile it in anyway, including Arch. :D I just had apparently been using the wrong command line switch. -fa works with any ttf font (including local fonts), whereas -fn only works with certain system fonts.

I heard it was all going to be CG

And didn't Star Wars already end as we knew it?

@Deep that's a bad thing? :P

Worst case scenario around here is that huge earthquake that's apparently "overdue". If I had a hurricane problem, evacuation sounds like the best option, since they usually see them coming, but for earthquakes I'd just try to get outside.

maybe try clearing your cache. It might be that your computer passed the check but keeps running into it due to cache problems. Maybe.

Mine too!

Oh, and you should put in a way to transfer OSes to other calcs, if at all possible. Not exactly a huge priority, but it would help with spreading the OS goodness.

That's about 20-30 hours of gameplay in, though, and it doesn't do much when you're really magic focused.

It's easier just to graph in parametric mode, as long as the topic got reopened.

Just set y=t, and x=your function. You do have to set t's range large enough in the window, but that's not difficult.

xterm by default doesn't support TTF fonts. It would have to be compiled supporting them.

I found one called Sakura, which may work. Looking into it now.

Computer Programming / Change the font in a terminal
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:06:54 am »
So, I'm working on a project where I use a custom font to render all my graphics, but I know that the terminals set the font differently, and that the python console has no control over it. My thought was to use a standalone terminal with my program, but I'm having a hard time finding a portable linux terminal, and it needs to support TTF fonts.

Any suggestions?

20. Chrono Trigger
Some of the quests are completely non-obvious, and If you're not careful you miss the best armors in the game.

Also, you have to choose between armor that drops damage to 1/3, or a weapon that does more damage, IIRC. I always took the armor :P

Anyway, back to OT...

When asking for help, it's generally fastest to go via IRC, but Forums are better when you have a bigger question, or no one on IRC knows. It's also faster than either to search for someone else having the same problem, but we're not like other forums that hate on people repeating questions. We easily have over 200,000 posts here, so searching through them could take a while.

Mine's smaller than it used to be, but it's also +1 92 Viewscreen

I'm thinking about building it into my 92.

SMC shouldn't need writeback unless it needs those buffers to be maintained, though, right?
