Other / Re: Firefox OS / Boot 2 Gecko
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:59:56 pm »
To many folks, Free Software refers to Open Source (It was actually the first catchphrase). FOSS is a fair amount more recent.

@Eeems I doubt the threading on B2G will be any different than current firefox. But on the Tab memory wasting point, keep in mind that RAM is currently very cheap, computation-wise. The extra ~100 MB I might use, max, is made up for by the advantages, like allowing one tab to crash while the others live on, and I don't mind because I have another 6 GB of RAM free either way.

Lua / Re: Look what my Nspire can do

There's an addon by TI that gives that, but it's expensive and non-documented.

I thought libti supported all platforms...

Not necessarily eliminate, but it should help.

If this emu runs anything like gbcnspire, it probably handles overclocking internally. Makes sense, since you can use the precise timings to avoid framerate limiters.

That title screen is epic. Do want.

The game is also coming along really well!

The student software is probably a lot faster than any of the Emulators, and it has better integration with the OS, like copy and paste.

TI is carrying on the tradition of TI-DOESNT-CARE :P

Sorry to hear about another bad story. I take it you actually want to USE the computer software, not just link to the calculator.

I don't really want one, but if I liked laptops I probably would. :P

The Axe Parser Project / Re: How closely tied is Axe to the TI-OS?
« on: September 10, 2012, 03:06:17 am »
I'd think the Free RAM areas could increase in size, they just couldn't decrease.

Another thing that wouldn't be able to change would be hooks. Axe uses quite a few of those IIRC.

The Axe Parser Project / How closely tied is Axe to the TI-OS?
« on: September 10, 2012, 01:27:42 am »
I had a bit of a crazy thought: What if there was an OS that had a similar memory layout to TI-OS, but removed a lot of useless 'features' and had a lot of optimizations for speed/space, as well as being better for axe runtimes? (Ie have the same effect as Axe Fuzion, and have management menus for axioms, etc.

Legally, as long as only a patch is released, there's no illegal file sharing (aka warez :P)

However, this is where I get curious: Just how closely does Axe Parser interact with the OS? Does it, for example, use any bcalls? IIRC, getkeyr is an example.

There really isn't an easier way AFAIK.

Hmmm....That would make a cool ndless program. A PATH variable.

I'm also a Touhou fan, btw. Some of the best piano music on the planet.
