The only wish I have would be better library integration, but that's not exactly Axe's fault. It's just an issue with the calculator itself not having enough space, and not having a decent way to update.

That sucks. Is this Chrome OS?

News / Re: Extend your TI-89 display to 240x128 (TI-92 size)

this is all extremely interesting. I'm not surprised at all that they did it on the 89, but I would have thought that 96x64 controllers would exist. Makes me wonder why they didn't just use the full resolution. The 86 did extremely well with it, after all.

So, theoretically, couldn't you just hook up a new internal LCD? (I say 'just' but it's really not that easy :P) or are there not enough pins on the connectors?

That list is outdated. Someone should fix that :P

But anyway, it's safe to update. Ndless 3 works. OS 3.1 works, and it has 3D graphing. So, go for it! I was just worried that something terrible might happen and you wouldn't have your calc for your exams.

I think he meant the pokemon screenies.

Updating to OS 3.1 at all can cause exam problems, as the interface is modified to the point of a minor annoyance. I prefer to minimize annoyances during my exams.

This is awesome. I really like the key-based touchpad.

One funny thing is that vertical slicing still gives horizontally cut fruit. :P I don't really care, but if it were my program I'd probably fix it.

HE QUIK BROWN FO JUPS OER HE LA DOG

Mine's not cheap. It's old. :P and I like it. (Enough to modify it from an AT socket to PS/2) Simultaneous keystroke problems don't actually matter for anything but gaming.

Well, it has enough power to stream a widescreen, standard definition image AND display it at the same time. That's not bad for what we deal with :P

Oh, and from what I saw on wikipedia the console will be pretty powerful. A POWER7 processor, which is a far newer architecture than the PS3 uses, and it's a standard CPU architecture :D. Heck, I bet we'll see Mac OS ported to it. It even looks like an Apple product.

Ipad + Buttons actually sounds really, really nice.

Screw the other features, I can just jailbreak it and use my own apps. I bet someone will get a port of linux running on the controller  itself, which means I won't even need to buy a console.

I hope they sell the controllers above-cost. That way they won't resent people modding them for standalone use.

Well, if any files are saved into unrecorded memory, then they are usually ignored and overwritten. no worries there.

Also, anything in RAM is lost on reboot, and that's where it saves it while it's sending.

adriweb, it's only like that for devices that actually need jailbreaking. look at the ti-84.
