Wait, are you talking about the entire program, or just the ReCode part?

I voted for 6mhz also, as I think it's easier if the faster languages are in 6mhz mode on default, to avoid some conflicts between the 83+ and the 83+SE and above. :)

This sounds pretty neat.  I've been meaning to get around to doing something like this (with Basic games) sometime in Axe, I've just never gotten around to it.  Good luck. :)

I only know this many. :P

Personally, I optimize as I go and I rarely find large optimizations when I go back over my code again.  This being said, I code in Basic for the most part, and I've never even finished a decent program in Asm. ;)

[20:26:52] <+geekboy> how much do you think i will need division?
[20:26:56] * +geekboy might just skip it T.T
[20:27:25] <+Iambian> Not sure how much you'll need division
[20:27:30] <@calc84> for the division routine, think about base 10 division
[20:27:35] <@calc84> long division*
[20:27:51] <+geekboy> ...another time
[20:27:52] <@calc84> except simpler because you can only get a 0 or 1
[20:27:52] <+geekboy> if i need it
[20:27:56] <+Iambian> I've never used any general purpose division routine in all my years of ASM programming.
[20:27:56] <+geekboy> ill just nag every one else
[20:27:57] <+geekboy> :P
[20:28:11] <@calc84> Iambian, really? :O

[20:28:44] <+Iambian> Just so you know, my use of arctangent kinda skips over that by using shifts and a table.
[20:28:52] <+geekboy> lol
[20:28:58] <ztrumpet> lol
[20:29:01] * +geekboy jumps over division
[20:29:15] * @calc84 jumps over a candlestick

This sounds incredibly awesome!  I wish I had the time to take on something like this; it sounds like a lot of fun!  Good luck, and I can't wait to see these games. ;D

Axe, Asm, or Basic?

But he probably used RET because END would be boring.

Maybe he should have done PUSH $0000 / RET of the world ^_^ it still would be a return, but I can assure you it would be the end of the WORLD.8xp program in your RAM.  ;)
I ran it from archive using my favorite shell. :P

sprites... that was a dirty drawing and needed improvement. here's an expansion. I will continue to expand it(if I don't get distracted :P)

That looks really good.  Nice drawing skills. ;D

I really want to see another enemy that can be killed by the ninja-guys-without-a-name that you sometimes need to flip switches with.  Basically, then you'd have to protect both yourself and that enemy from the unkillable-nameless-ninja-thing.  (And yes, I don't think it should be killable.)

Progress sounds great.  I can't wait to see more screenies! ;D

« on: April 12, 2011, 08:25:33 pm »
Thanks. :)  It actually gets faster as the game progresses, almost to the point where it's no longer playable.  Should I make it speed up faster?

Edit: I just had an idea to make City Saver look better, but it'll curb the difficulty a bit.  I'll make it speed up faster to compensate, though. :)
