Illusiat 12 ERR:UNDEFINED SOLVED
« on: June 07, 2011, 12:04:29 pm »
EDIT: Problem solved; WabbitEmu doesn't recognise .8XI files like .8XP files. You have to check All Files at Files of Type when loading a file to see them.

I have been trying to run Illusiat 12 on WabbitEmu (with the TI-83+ ROM, by the way) but even though I put the files from the archives folder into the archive memory and the files from the RAM folder into the RAM memory the program ILLUSI12 displays ERR:UNDEFINED when I press enter on EXEC and then enter again.

For the record, here is my memory data as displayed by SHIFT, MEM, 2:Mem Mgmt/Del..., 1:All:

RAM FREE 4668
ARC FREE 1555K

I also can't find the Pic1.8XI to Pic8.8XI files anywhere on the calc, even though I am sure I extracted them as well. Can anybody tell me where these files should be located so I can check whether or not they are there?

You need to have TI-Connect installed then right click the group files (8xg) and extract all to ungroup them directly on the computer instead of on the calc or emulator. Those games were sent to the comp using TI-Graph Link software and TI-Connect 1.3 or below, which uses a different 8xg file format than newer TI-Connect and TiLP versions. You can also install TI-Graph Link and ungroup files with it, but it only works on 16/32 bit OSes.

The files shows up under 2nd + mem, option  2, all.

Note: You should reset the calc RAM before reinstalling files.

Basically, your issue here is: Texas Instruments is retarded and did not keep backward compatibility with older group files

THanks, I wasn't sure if you would like it, since it's very hard, but since you made an ASCII-art game too I figured you wouldn't have problems with the game not using the graph screen. The issue though is that it's friggin hard! O.O

You don't have to use the Load File dialog. Just drag the file to the calculator's screen and it can load any file you want :)
