Rebirth: The Soul of Icarus

Greetings to all of Omnimaga. I am pleased to announce my first official project in Axe.  ;D  It shall be an RPG called Rebirth: The Soul of Icarus. I'm not going to reveal much plot wise but it has Greek mythology as well as Dante's Inferno influences. This will be a learning project for me and I hope to see it to completion. I probably will make it open source and I also will also ask a lot of questions and for help. It won't be a terribly long and expansive RPG but a small one with hopefully a good plot. So far I have planned out most of the plot as well as gameplay and I hope to post updates as time goes by. Thank you.

Any details on how you are planning to do it? Like, tilemapping probably, but tilesize? Scrolling? Turn-based or APRG?

Oh yeah... details... It will be 8x8 tiles with 3 lvl grayscale. The battle engine will be a CIBS or Contact Initiated Battle System (Heh, I made that up...) where in the overworld you make contact with the enemy and a battle is initiated sort of like Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories but it will be turn based with inspiration from FF and Reuben Quest in layout. The game will be organized into various strata (Dante's Inferno influence) where you go deeper and deeper into the underworld where you eventually face Hades. I will hopefully implement smooth-scrolling.

Bumpity bump... It's been a while since I logged on and posted but this isn't dead nor will it ever be (I hope). Also just in case no one has seen this yet this is an attempt at a decent RPG.

Another bump just to say this isn't dead.  The only thing that will be changed aout this game is that it will be an ARPG but slight different in that it will also have magic hotkeys where a certain spell or technique is executed when a certain button is pressed.  I haven't worked on ths much but expect to see more updates on this in the future.

I was thinking about it... I might or I might not.  Right now I'm not sure.  You play a demigod in this game and you learn new techniques and attacks as you develop during the game.

I feel so... idk. I really haven't started this at all because I've been busy and whatnot but I promised myself I would see this through.  With that being said, I've changed some of the plans in my head for this game with the same concept though.  The name is now Icarus: The Last Demigod.  The storyline hasn't changed... much  :P But yeah... hopefully expect some dates that are up.
