Arcade expo 2013 the netherlands

Retro Game Experience 14-15 sept 2013 in Hilversum the Netherlands. I am going there! Is anyone coming too? It's €15 for one day or €22 for the entire weekend.

Wow nice. Actually where I live, tomorrow night there is something called the Warpzone 6th edition, which is like some sort of retro gaming conference and party. There will be beer, pizza and plenty of tube TVs on which we can play several old console games, and during afternoon there also are some sort of conference with people explaining the history of video gaming and stuff. Not sure if there will be retro arcade machines, though.

They even have Vectrex and Colecovision games to try! O.O

I wonder if Sept 14th-15th is some sort of special day in the gaming world, like with the Programming Day the other day?

Wow I just googled and there are a lot of retro-related things all over the world this weekend.(did not look at other weekends yet, but it might be a special day indeed)

Btw my convention was kinda nice with all the retro stuff. My only complaints would be that they should have added chairs at the tables near the bar and behind, so that when watching a quiz or conference we don't have to stand up for 15 minutes. Also food was abusively hot beyond safetyness, there was too much dubstep music and they should maybe have included a bit more retro consoles near the bar, instead of having like 6 computer screens to try the independent space shooting simulator. It was fun for about 5 hours but afterward we left. Next year there should be a Mario Kart 64 tournament. :P

I wound up not going sadly because I woke up late and I was not ready to travel yet, so even if I did decide to go I would only have about 2-3 hours there and for €15 and a 1,5 hour travel that's not worth it to me. Better luck next time.

Too bad, you've missed it. Next time you know about it, please announce it, i'd say with a pair weeks in advance. I have some friends to visit in the Netherlands and i wouldn't mind to meet some nice Omninaga folks over there. Yeah, i do like beer also. ;)

There is another retro fair coming up with a lot of sellers and collectors selling their doubles. This is just people selling their games and not something like an arcade expo though. I went to a retro fair spring this year and it was awesome! Definitely gonna visit some more and maybe meet some old friends!

You're lucky. Over here, even in some pawn shops and at Flea markets people won't hesitate to charge you $200 for the rare games like Bubble Bobble Pt 2. The good thing, though, is that they sometimes do mistakes, so you can actually still score some good deals there from time to time (eg when I got Mega Man 2 and Cybernator)

I got megaman 2 for €15 and kirby for €10 at the retro fair this spring. That is not overpriced, but just about right. Both just loose carts ofc.
