Well, I'm kinda getting back into my old groove. I decided to get out my recorder, hit record, and upload whatever happened.
Not the best by a long shot, but hey... I had fun. (Adjusting to the slight recorder lag is a pain though.)

Description:
I just started playing Stepmania again after a LONG hiatus. I'm still rusty. (Also, I have to adjust to that slight recorder lag.)
Anyway, here's just a little something from the Super Simfile Song Pack.

Two hands. My style is this set-up.

It's in the order of the arrows at top so:
G - ←
(left middle finger)
H - ↓
(left index finger)
4 - ↑
(right index finger)
5 - →
(right middle finger)

I use these keys because it's a comfortable spread and it doesn't cause that annoying beep if you press all 4 keys at once. (some songs require you to do that...)

If I'm not using this set-up though, I just use the arrows and my 2 index fingers. (or 1-handed if a song is really easy but I still want to listen to it)

I liked it at first but I just suck at rhythm or reflex games, so I kinda got bored eventually. Also it was a major PITA to create your own simfiles. Eventually I just downloaded simfiles for the songs.

I really love those J-pop songs on Stepmania. But yeah it's a shame that's it's so hard to actually find easy songs for Stepmania.
I also loved how you could add announcer voices. Or that you could play with different effects that make your arrows go wavey and stuff  ;D
