Hi everyone,

You might want to be aware of this:

I returned my TI Nspire CX CAS back to the seller today and want a brand new one....Why?

Where the battery charger cord (which connects to the wall) connects to the calculator, the connection is loose when connected & When I wiggle the inserted cable it caused pixelation problems on the screen/interface of the CX CAS right below the connection point on the calculator.

Furthermore, The CX CAS has a very cheap feel to it.  I ordered a guard & screen protectors from amazon.com to help keep it in great condition when I get my new one next week.

Just an FYI!
Stefos.......Unreal man, that sucks!

Wow that sucks. I wonder if anyone else had a loose cable connection too? It could be a batch of calcs that were badly made, kinda like those batches of iMacs that keeps shutting down by themselves due to power supply issues. I did not notice much of a cheap feel on my calc and had no issue, but I didn't use it that often and I got it a few years ago.

I hope the next one you get is fine, plus I hope you can get a refund of the broken one.

Hi DJ,

Yeah man...I got it YESTERDAY!

I returned it today.......I told the customer service lady what's happening....She said
they'd replace it with a new one & refund my shipping.

I wish TI made an engineering app like the MePro for the TI Nspire...It would be perfect.

Any recommendations?
Thanks again,
Stefos

You can make your own formula database with it.

Hey folks.....Guess What?

I got my Calculator back again from a Company recommended from T.I.'s website: The Bach company

I still have the same issues!!!!!

What the HECCKKK????

I spoke with TI's tech support & they gave me a RMA #........I have to send it off to them asap to get a fresh one from them within 3-4wks
they said.

Do Not buy from The Bach Company!  Nice people but seemed clueless as to my particular technical issue.
It seems they DID get a bad batch of calculators & the owner of the company is playing stupid...."I've never heard of an issue like that"

Whatever.....You've been forewarned! LOL

P.S. My car's engine might have seized on me today also.......Sucks brothers.

Wow that sucks, I'll definitively be careful if I buy a new calc.

Update:

I talked with T.I. tech support again and they are now rushing out the new CX CAS! :)

It will take 5-7 business days as opposed to 3-4 weeks yesterdays tech support guy said.

Hopefully, this new one will not give me pixelation issues like my last 2 did.

The company I bought my calc from is called The Bach Company.....Don't buy from them unless you want my hassle.
It definitely appears as though they got a bad batch & can't tell the difference.

Yeah I hope. If it has problems too, then  they better change factories to produce them. >.<

As for The Bach Company it's possible that they are aware of the broken calcs, but are still trying to push them towards customers, because many people who buy stuff online will not bother with refunds and shipping items back, plus some companies tries to put the fault on the customers. X.x

Hi everyone,

UPDATE: Got my new Nspire CX CAS from TI directly......The issue is completely resolved BUT the connector is still loose.

So, If you buy an TI Nspire CX CAS from any company other than TI directly, Check for this pixelation problem
on screen & call TI immediately.......They'll send you a new one.

P.S. My new Nspire's button are also tighter than the flimsy feeling one I bought from The Bach Company as well.

It does seem The Bach Company got a bad batch of TI Nspire CX CAS's.........Look out for bad hardware.

But they'll send you a K (or higher?) revision calculator.

True, although I personally would rather have a K calc than a non-working one I paid $150-200 for.

What I am curious about is if new members will come here in a few months with the same problem from the Bach Company.

Good to know! Thanks for keeping us abreast of these 'funky' dealers, but mind you, it happens all the time. You've spent some extra time, but you've learned how to handle this type of setback. Hope it was worth the effort. Have some fun now, finally. ;)

I had heard the Bach company sold refurbished calculators? That's probably why you had such problems with them.
