We haven't touched any code at all yet. My teach promised that we'd get to use dreamweaver, said we won't learn any javascript :( and we'll mess with flash, of all things, for a bit.

"get to use dreamweaver", too bad I don't see the advantage of it. I once tried Adobe Dreamweaver and it was a piece of crap. It's expensive, heavy, CPU Consuming, and all it does is nothing more than a notepad :)

Somewhere I worked I was forced to use Dreamweaver; I would describe it as being a bad HTML editor tied to a bad FTP client. It has emphasis on being able to do some project management for you, like a template system, locking files and handling updating local/server files. But for an experienced programmer it can hold you back, so I ended up using my own tools instead.

If your building a static website, it's only maintained by one person, your not experienced with web development, and have no intention to learn, then Dreamweaver works very well. It's once you come out of that box that it quickly becomes a pain.

I just had so much nightmare with Dreamweaver, just from making the webpages. In most cases, I just relied on my very limited HTML knowledges to make the websites instead of letting it build it for me. It was worse to make websites when I used Adobe GoLive, though.

I always use the most basic tools for web development, sometimes I even use nano to edit my files.

I find HTML very easy.  I use microsoft word if using windows.  And Abiword if using Linux.

edit: I use these to develop HTML files often.  Then I optimize them using Notepad++.

nano is just a text editor, like Notepad++ (I don't understand the "even"). Either way, I think a tabbed text editor is the best thing for Web Development and Programming, I end up using vim a lot for it.

It's possible to create formatting in Word like when you create a normal document and save it as an HTML file - it's completely different from typing the HTML code in Word.

I prefer Geany, since it's basically notepad plus highlighting and grouping, plus it supports every language I program in, minus calc-specific languages (although it even supports asm! :P)

My school is hilarious. We got a new filter, and it seems that just about everything is blocked (Even Omni is blocked!! I was so sad when I found out). However, Youtube and Sourceforge are no longer blocked. Lolz.

At our school, we are not allowed to use "electronic devices" during school, graphing/regular calculators are exceptions. <3 Omnimaga for supplying me with an endless supply of calc games :D
