I've finally cleaned up my desktop, downloaded a decent background (instead of using the windows 8 artic theme), and added some stuff with rainmeter. I'm actually quite pleased with the result.

Here is my Trisquel desktop, with KDE. I am using the Oxygen theme and Trisquel's default wallpaper (this is not the default in KDE though):

My new desktop (some personal info blurred)

Changes:
  • Installed gnome-panel
  • Changed from a dark kitten background on the terminal to a lighter version (problems with too much stuff being displayed and the background turning white)

I usually have my tabs in the 5-10s region. Any more and it gets too cluttered.
