No, it's not about that. 42 is (I believe) from a book where 42 was described as the answer to life and everything. I don't remember the details.

1337 might be a bit tricky to explain... Basically, some people replace letters with numbers when they write, and the word "elite" becomes 3133. 1337 comes from "leet", which means pretty much the same thing as "elite".

1337 means "elite"  its short land for leetspeak = elite speak.
1=l 3=e 7=t so on and so forth, numbers and symbols that look like a letter are used.

also,42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything, as calculated by Deep Thought.  ;)
