it is indeed more secure, if I didn't mess up somewhere and allowed html injection x.x

Also I wonder, since OIRC3 is gonna replace OmnomIRC v2 after the upgrade, does it mean that all your work will be scrapped? D: Maybe it might be a good idea eventually to release a copy of v2 in the Omni archives and the SMF site.
It's all on github already.

So, the upgrade went (more or less) smooth now :)

And now bolded highlights no longer work, even after re-enabling it D: (red highlight works, tho)

Fixed it, had a quote somewhere where it wasn't supposed to be. Thanks!

Sorunome told me to say this, so here it goes:
Make it not send double of what i type and then go back to normal when i refresh but do it again with the new things typed

Yeah it would be nice if Omnom didn't send an identical line of text right after posting it. It would prevent accidental posts due to lag or whatever and filter some spam.

I already filtered out the double-posting due to lag, i think, the issue LDStudios described is that, somehow, OmnomIRC goes twice into the update loop, causing recieved messages to appear double.

Ok so I ran into some strange OmnomIRC bug that allowed me to go beyond the character limit:

If you type a space then some text, then move the cursor back at the start of your line, everytime you press TAB to cycle through nicknames, it adds an extra ": " between the nickname and the text. If you do it enough times, you eventually get past the 128 chars limit.

Hm, right, that would make sense. I guess I'll just have to add server-side verification (if that doesn't exist already)

FYI - I've set it up so that the OIRC logs are cleared every night due to CPU usage issues. They are backed up to irc_lines_old before the irc_lines table is truncated though.

Good to know :P

I'll still change it a bit, though, because now inactive channels lose their backlog daily etc ;)

Didn't the logs use to be cleared every night or every few hours before? A year ago, everytime I looked at the convo in inactive channels, there was like 1-2 lines of text.
