TI-84 Pocket
« on: February 25, 2011, 07:13:03 pm »
I was browsing TI's French website and I came across this "TI-84 Pocket" that is coming soon:

http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/FRANCE/productCategory/fr_graphing.html
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/FRANCE/productDetail/fr_TI-84Pocket.html

Would anyone here (critor?) happen to know what this is?  Are there any major differences from a normal 84+/84+ SE?

The pic doesn't look any different from a TI-84 Plus except for a blue circle... No idea what that is.

They might be using the image as a simple place holder... but if this is a pocket sized TI-84+ then that is awesome!

True. If it's that small, that would be amazing

Well I have seen a CAS calculator on a small, touch screen device thing that a friend has. It fits in the palm of his hand, too.

Maybe it's exactly like an 84+ in shape, but half size, using a smaller, same res LCD.

Why couldn't all of these cool things come out one year earlier? I would have probably bought one of the pockets.

Weird, to me it looks like they'll soon release a different looking TI-84+ soon, like they did with the TI-82 and 83 in 2000 and the TI-82 Stats. Maybe they'll try to fit that Parcus calc look.

Weirdly enough, the site has no info on the calc.

Also I agree the TI-89T from France looks great.

just out of curiosity, but how come none of the other countries have their own special calcs like France?

I think it's just France for some reason.
