Well, saying that the last reply was more 2 months ago. I think that this project.is really dead after all. :'(

Casio Calculators / CAS for Prizm?
« on: February 11, 2013, 10:45:08 pm »
I would be grateful if someone made a CAS program for the Casio Prizm (simplify something like 3x+5x to 8x). TI has a CAS nSpire accepted on SATs and stuff so CAS is allowed on many tests. Thank you in advance if someone does make this.

I haven't seen anything from this forum recently, I hope this Doom thing gets some fixes later on. DJ_O , you probably have the Casio fx-CG20, not the fx-CG10, so that's probably why it's not crashing. The game gets past level 1 and occasionally 2 but crashes always at the end door of level 2. This game is not much fun without more than 2 levels. It's cool you got it working at all, but could you (or someone else) please continue the project. please make the AC/ON save the game so when the game crashes, there's a save.

Casio Calculators / TI basic converter

Many more people have TI calcs than Casio, making it hard to find programs for it. It would be nice to convert TI basic to Casio.

The reason for making this topic was because I need a strait-forward, no guess method to solve GCF of an equation to factor something like (x^(2)-7x+6) because guess and check takes too long.

EDIT: I looked at some TI-83 instructions and was able to figure it out! Matrix>Catalog(Shift+4)>GCD(>and type "GCD([first term],[second term],[etc.])"

It would be cool to have a help app telling us how to do stuff with out calculator so if our teacher doesn't know anything about math, we look at how to solve directly on the prizm. (ex. Q: How to solve for x? A: Equation>Solver>Eq>type>EXE>Solve)

Are you going to fix the crashing? It seems like this project is DEAD.

I got Insight and it's just a bunch of gibberish that I don't know how to navigate. How do I change the color (step by step keypresses)

How do you Factor a problem on the Prizm? Ex. x^(2)-7x+6

Casio Calculators / Prizm Problem Solving Q&A
« on: December 15, 2012, 10:59:12 am »
This thread is so if anyone has questions about how to solve a problem using the Casio Prizm, you can ask here or answer someone's question. (ex. How do you solve 3x-2y+3z=8 (not a proper problem, just an example))

The original Minecraft will never work on this calculator, it requires waay too much power (even school computers run it a little slow). I do think though that a Minecraft clone could work fine with Doom engine or other.

I'm sooo sorry I haven't gotten a prototype yet, I'm just not making enough money. I really want to start working on this. Unfortunately indiegogo requires a minimum goal of $500 and I only need about $100 to get the project started and I don't think $500 will be reached and also, I don't want to rip anyone off. If you think that the $500 goal is fine, I'll consider it.

PS. About kickstarter, it requires a minimum age of 18 and I'm still 15 so I'm immediately disqualified from that one. Luckily, indiegogo has no minimum age.

Reply to Rhombicuboctahedron: Sorry, but stylus is not allowed on SATs. I'll probably include a touchscreen, but if you want a pen, you'll need to get it separately (Touchscreens are allowed, styluses are not)

PSS: Do you know where I can find a calculator keyboard that connects to raspberry pi? I'm also thinking of locking down the OS due to popular demand. You will still be able to bypass it by finding the Easter-egg (or flashing a new ROM of course) but at stock, it'll contain plenty of math apps, and will be able to install apks through file explorer (because all current calcs can install apps so there's no bad in having this feature) , but I will lock wifi and hide it somewhere to prevent the use of facebook and stuff. (There very likely will be root as well)

Alright, I want to start on the project, but I need to get a kick-start fund NOT FROM DONATIONS. My reason for this is because someone could scam others using this scheme, so I'm using the leaf-blower to earn some cash to do this.

It's not cheating if you follow the rules, and the rules are very easy for math section.

Oh yeah! I just remembered about Raspberry Pi. Maybe I can put that in a calc case and make the keyboard work, connect it to LCD, and I get it working!
