General Calculator Help / Re: ti connect can't find my ti 83 plus
« on: April 17, 2023, 01:43:19 pm »
What OS version is your calculator?
Maybe try TiLP instead of TI Connect or TI Connect CE?
What OS is your computer?
Are there any error messages from TI Connect or TI Connect CE? If so, what are they?

i have a ti 83 plus with the graphic link cable and when i connect to my pc it recognize the calculator but ti connect nope i don't know what to do please help
Could you clarify what you mean by graphic link cable?

still won't work
Then you are out of luck. If you write out a detailed list of what you have done, what software and hardware you have, I might be able to find something you have missed. But so far all you have told me is that you have a TI83 and it won't work.
@burro_ciao Could you write out the detailed list of what you have done, and what software and hardware you have? Your list so far is not detailed. Detailed means the actual steps, not the high level actions.

In case anybody is wondering, we don't really make all that much. Around $18USD in total since we enabled the ads. I'll probably leave it on for now.

General Calculator Help / Re: Making a game w/o OS?
« on: March 10, 2022, 06:14:20 pm »
Okay, good to know. That sounds like a better idea, since requiring the user to replace the OS with a different one is obviously suboptimal. What's the actual process for unloading the OS (what ports to write to to modify flash or whatever), and where does it get backed up to?
That's a great question for @calc84maniac

Since we have the signing keys, yes you can replace the OS with your own that just plays the game. I think TI-Boy SE also has logic that just unloads large portions of the OS when launching and the adds it back when quitting. That might be the better option: https://github.com/calc84maniac/tiboyse

@calc84maniac any ideas?

What happens when you try to save?

TI Z80 / Re: Mimas - an on-calculator assembly IDE

This is because the updated version of the most used ASM guide is not on ticalc.org, but rather a different URL now. Unfortunately, https://tutorials.eeems.ca/ASMin28Days/lesson/toc.html shows a Cloudflare error and I forgot the other link. I am surprised people even get TASM to run considering I never got it to run on any 64-bit system.
It's up for me. I think I was just having network issues when you were looking.

I was initially against showing players how much HP the enemy had left for various reasons (making the game challenging, screen clutter, etc.)

But about halfway through my first complete playthrough of the game, I found myself quite annoyed at not knowing which enemies have impenetrable proton shields and then having to guess how much shield health (not HP) the enemy has.

So, you can now see how much HP and shield health (if any) an enemy has left.  Purposefully simple to avoid screen clutter.

Did you try out having just some simple health/shield bars so that users just have a general idea of how much is left instead of specifics? That might be a nice balance between difficulty and knowing that you are actually making a dent in the enemy's health.

final thing I can not find tiLP
First google result: http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilp/

omg I got so happy I succeded in sending mirage os to ti 84 with ti 84 connect ce.... But I tried to send a game and, it didnt work. It said it was incompatible
Are you sending a file meant for an 84+ or an 84+CE?
this is for the ti 84 +
so can you tell me if I should try on another laptop
It sounds like you were able to get things copied and now are just dealing with trying to transfer files meant for a different device.

ok so i just tried ti connect ce and I got all the way to transfering cezium to my calc and then when I went to asm to put in apps like vid said it wouldnt work
What model of calculator is this? Cesuim is for the TI-84+CE. MirageOS is for the TI-83+/TI-84+ family.
